Using Time Travel To Buy Candy

It is entirely possible to use the time travel method to obtain 1 piece of candy every day. We do not necessarily recommend this, but if you're in a hurry you may choose to use it.

Get From Villagers The Day Of

Halloween

If Halloween arrives and you don't have as much candy as you like, fear not. Going into houses of villagers and talking to them while wearing a costume will get you 1 candy. This process is repeatable over and over, though it may take a long time. To repeat it, you'll need to go in and out of houses on the island over and over.

Additionally, very infrequently you may see a villager outside who refuses to trick or treat and who will just give you candy instead. This doesn't seem to happen very often.

Get A One-Time Gift Of 3 Candies

By talking to a villager who is outside while you have 0 candies, you can get a limited one-time gift of 3 candies! This does not seem to be repeatable.

Scare Villagers With A Jack Costume

Jack Costume

If you put on the Jack's Robe & Jack's Face items and then proceed to talk to a villager on your island, you will be rewarded with one piece of Candy! Note that you can only get one Candy per villager using this method - leaving and entering a house won't reset this, as it's one-time only. You can get as many pieces of candy as you have villagers living on your island.

The Uses Of Halloween Candy

Give Out To Villagers

event
Candy Pieces To Buy 25+ pieces

Players will be able to give villagers candies during the Halloween event! Walk up to your villagers and give them a piece of candy!

Note that you'll need a lot of candy if you want to successfully get all Spooky furniture AND recipes. There will be an element of randomness to it, so we recommend bringing at least 25 pieces.

Get Pranked If You Don't Give Candies

You will also have the option not to give villagers candy! However, doing so will mean that villagers will prank you! This only happens if you have a piece of candy in your inventory and choose not to give it out. Having no candy will not lead to being pranked.

Give Candy To Jack

Give Candy To Jack

Jack is a special type of villager that only appears on Halloween. Since candies are his favorite food, giving Jack candy might reward you with Halloween-themed furniture and items!

Jack Candy Rewards

Candy1st: Jack's Robe
2nd: Jack's Face
3rd and on: Pumpkin

You need to give 2 pieces of candy to Jack to get all the unique items you can from him. After the 3rd piece and on, you'll only get Pumpkins, which isn't really worth your time.

Put On The Ground To Attract Ants

Ants

Placing Candy on the ground will cause Ants to appear around it! If you don't want to use spoiled Turnips to accomplish this, you could potentially use Candy instead!

Lollipops Also Work

Lollipops

▲Turns out Ants will go for Lollipops as well!
