How To Upgrade Resident Services
Upgrade Building With Story Progress
In order to upgrade Resident Services, you need to progress the story. After upgrade is made, there will be several functions unlocked, and the service tent will become a building!

What Is Resident Services?
Building Managed By The Nooks
The Resident Services tent is the main information center in the deserted island. Here you can find Tom Nook and the Nooklings, Tommy and Timmy. They will help you set your life up on the island!
Can Expand In The Future
As you move forward in the game, the Resident Services building will expand & add more staff! such as Isabelle! You will be able to do more such as house expansion and customization as well.
Buy & Sell Items Daily - Resident Services
In the Resident Services building, you can talk to either Timmy or Tommy to buy or sell items daily. They will sell you new items every day and will also purchase your unwanted items.

After you've unlocked Nook's Cranny, Timmy & Tommy will take their buy & sell services to their own shop. You need to go to Nook's Cranny in order to purchase daily furniture & sell your wares.

You'll also find Tom Nook's crafting workbench in Resident Services. Here you can craft your own furniture and tools, as long as you have the right DIY recipe and crafting materials.

Redeem Nook Miles
The Nook Stop terminal is where you can redeem your Nook Miles. By choosing this option, you can check which items are available for redemption.

Scan Amiibo & Amiibo Cards
The Nook Stop terminal is also where you can scan Amiibo figures and Amiibo Cards. When you do, you can invite specific characters onto your island's Campground!

Once you've purchased or had an item in your inventory, it will be included in the Nook Shopping catalogue. You can use the Nook Stop terminal to purchase any available items in the catalogue.

The Nook Stop terminal is also where you can pay your loans to Tom Nook for every home expansion you request from him. This makes it easier to access your savings to pay for any loans!
Repay Debt & Build Expansions - Resident Services
Repay Debt With Nook Miles
Since you can find Tom Nook in Resident Services, you can speak with him to repay your debt for the Getaway Package. You will need to use Nook Miles to pay him back.
Build Home Expansions
You'll eventually be able to expand your tent and build a house in the island. Speaking with Tom Nook will also let you repay your construction loans to him with Bells.
Move House & Stores
You can also speak with Tom Nook about relocating your home and facilities on the island. He'll charge you moving fees so bring enough Bells with you!

When you eventually progress further and Isabelle comes to work with Tom Nook, you'll be able to check the environment of your island. This includes changing your flag, music, & even discuss the current residents!

With Isabelle in Resident Services, you can talk to her about your island evaluation. She'll give your island a rating and ways to improve your island's environment!

One of Isabelle's functions is to "discuss a resident". Though still unconfirmed, this can be one of the few ways to make a villager leave your island permanently.

When speaking with Isabelle, you can also change your island's tune. This melody plays when the clock strikes an hour and she will even sing it to you when you want to test it out.
