Pumpkin - How To Get Pumpkins & Pumpkin Starts
Purchase Pumpkin Starts
Head on over to the Nook's Cranny or Leif when he's around to get pumpkin seeds. Note that you can only purchase Pumpkin starts during October. The prices are as listed below:

Purchase Pumpkin Starts Cheaper
Pumpkin seeds are sold at the Nook's Cranny throughout the fall season. He sells you one pumpkin start for a mere 140 bells, so this is obviously the recommended method of obtaining pumpkins.

After you've given Jack two, any Halloween Candy you give him after that will net you a pumpkin! There are easier ways of getting pumpkins, so we don't recommend using Candies like this unless you've already got all Spooky Furniture recipes.
Get From Villagers
Once you've obtained all 14 Spooky furniture DIY recipes, villagers will start giving you pumpkins when you give them a candy during the Halloween Night event. (Note that they can also give you other items as well.)

Plant Starts & Water Them
Similar to flowers, Pumpkins are grown by first planting their seeds in the ground. The more you water them, the more pumpkins you can harvest.

Harvest Pumpkins
It takes 4 days for pumpkin to grow. Once a pumpkin is big enough, you'll be able to harvest it!
Regrow After 2 Days
After picking a Pumpkin for the first time, a new one will grow back in just two days! The color will remain the same, and the amount of pumpkins produced will depend on how much you water it, just like before.

4 Types Of Pumpkins
There are 4 Types of Pumpkins that you will be able to obtain. Right now, the only difference between them is the color. There's currently no way to get a specific color pumpkin - it appears to be random!

There are 4 Pumpkin colors, with Orange being the primary one. Recipes for Spooky Furniture will require Orange Pumpkins. Other color Pumpkins are exclusively used for Customization!
Plant Pumpkin To Get Desired Color
If you want to get pumpkins of a specific color, plant a pumpkin with your desired color. You can get pumpkins of exactly same color as the one you planted.

Used To Create DIY Halloween Furniture
As part of the Fall Update, new furniture and items were added to fit the Halloween theme. Pumpkins are an essential material to create these.

How Many Pumpkins You Need

In order to craft all Spooky furniture, you'll need a total of 88 Orange Pumpkins. Make sure you water them when growing the pumpkins to get the best possible harvest.
Customize Pumpkin Furniture
The only known purpose of green, yellow, and white pumpkins so far is customization. This means you can change the color of any DIY item that uses Pumpkins. You will need to make a regular version of the item first and then bring it to a DIY counter.

Just like other fruits and mushrooms, pumpkins can be eaten to get stamina. However, you might need to use pumpkins as a material of DIY so we don't recommend eating them right away!
Sell Pumpkins For 350 Bells Each
If you've already made all Spooky Furniture and still have left over pumpkins, you can sell 1 pumpkin for 350 bells.
How To Make A Pumpkin Field
Buy Starts First

Before you make a field of pumpkins, you're going to need some pumpkins! Buy a whole bunch of Pumpkin Starts first. Note that the color Pumpkin you get is totally random, so if you want to have a variety of pumpkins you should buy at least 10 to ensure you get all colors.
Pick Out A Plot Of Land
Next, pick a spot on your island to plant your pumpkins. It's possible to plant Pumpkins directly into the ground without doing anything, but if you want to set some dirt-like tiles down to make things look more farm-like, you can do so. Put up a fence if you see fit.
Plant The Starts
The important thing to pay attention to while planting starters is their layout. You'll want to make sure it's as easy and convenient as possible to water them, so if you want you can set them up in groups of 6 (to match the Watering Can's range). You can pack them all together as well and they will grow with no problems, however.
Replant To Your Liking
Once your Pumpkins are fully grown, harvest them and collect ones of the color you want. If you replant a pumpkin of a certain color, the same color pumpkin will grow in its place. This means you can color-coordinate your pumpkin patch!
Mix In Custom Designs
If you're feeling confident, you can also get creative and use custom designs to make your pumpkin patch stand out. Put up a sign or maybe add a scarecrow - your only limit is your creativity!
