How To Catalog Items

Touch Other Players' Items To Catalog Them

touch trade

You can catalog new items easily by picking up something another player dropped and putting it back on the ground. This method is sometimes called "Touch Trading" or cataloging. Once the other player's new item is in your inventory, that item will be registered in your catalog and you can purchase exactly same item in Nook Shopping!

Item Has To Be In "Leaf Form"

You can only pick up an item when it's in leaf form. Ask other players to drop items instead of placing them on the ground.

Cataloging (Touch Trade) Procedure

1Invite (or visit) another player who has your desired item
2Ask the other player to drop your desired item on the ground
3Pick up the item and put it in your inventory
4Return the other player's item by dropping it on the ground
5The item you've picked up is now registered in your catalog

You Can't Catalog Item While Dreaming

dream

You can visit other player's island by Dreaming. While you are dreaming, you can pick up items but it will not be registered in your catalog.
