Unlike the previous Animal Crossing games where your face was determined by how you answered Rover's questions, you can now create your own character. (No Face Chart!) This is done when taking your passport photo at the beginning of the game.

How To Create Your Character

In New Horizons, you can create your own character and decide for yourself the skin tone, hairstyle, eyes, nose, mouth, and cheeks of your persona!

You Can Always Change Your Look

You can always change your look by using a mirror or a vanity in your room. Change your style that fits to your mood!

Name Is Permanent

When creating a character, make sure to pick a name you like, as you won't be able to change your name later!

Add Eyebrows With Custom Designs

You can add eyebrows to you character through the use of custom designs. You can change how your character looks with this method!

Swap Designs With Wands Later

You can swap to a different look by using a Wand at any time. Wands are special crafted DIY Items.

Get More Hairstyles By Spending Miles

You can obtain new hairstyles by spending Miles at the Nook Stop! Packs of hairstyles are available for you to buy, such as Pop and Cool variants.

Animals which visit your island will sometimes gift you haircuts as a reward. However, furniture and other accessories are included among the possible pool of rewards, so it's not possible to target these specifically.
