Summer is here (at least in the Northern Hemisphere!) - a new free summer update has been announced and will officially start on July 3rd. This update includes new features such as diving, sea creatures, new villager Pascal, and more!

Diving & New Sea Creatures
Get ready to dive into the deep blue sea - the ocean is now open! Wear a wet suit & dive into the ocean to find new sea creatures, with some particularly rare and fast ones!

Sea creatures you catch by diving can be donated to Blathers. Donated creatures will be displayed in the aquarium!

New Sea Otter Villager Pascal
A villager named Pascal, who appeared in previous AC games, will show up in the ocean as well. By giving him scallops, you'll be able to get special DIY recipes from him!

Although the names of items haven't been announced yet, promotional materials so far have revealed quite a lot of Mermaid set furniture. We were able to spot ~11 items, which we've listed in the link below!

In order to start diving, you'll need to purchase a Wetsuit at Nook's Cranny.
Nook Inc. Wet Suit Will Be Available
You can purchase a Nook Inc. Wet Suit at Nook Stop. It costs 800 nook miles!
Update To Ver. 1.3.0 & Get Snorkeling Goggles
You'll also be able to get Snorkeling Goggles by updating your ACNH to ver. 1.3.0.

Tanabata (Starcrossed Day) Bamboo Available
The Japanese ACNH official site has disclosed that players will be able to purchase Bamboo Wish Trees on the day of Tanabata, which is a star festival on July 7th where people wear Yukata! This event might be Japanese-exclusive, but we currently don't have enough information to know for sure.
