Look For Bubbles

泡を見極めて潜る

▲Bubbles = a chance of it being a Scallop.

Some Sea Creatures produce a bubble above their position in the sea, just like in the image above. The Scallop is one of these (although not the only one), so you can use this fact to try to distinguish them.

Not Particularly Fast

The shadow of a Scallop does indeed move, but it isn't particularly fast. You can still catch after diving, so don't worry!

Example Of Catching A Scallop

Wetsuit Is Necessary

Nook's Cranny

The Wetsuit is required to go swimming in the ocean! It can be purchased at Nook's Cranny for 3000 Bells, so make sure to get it!

The update that added cooking makes you collect things you didn’t think you’d plan to catch again. For example there’s a recipe that needs two scallops.

He only comes once a day so each day, check for a scallop!

Is there a point to collecting many scallops? Pascal only seems to take one at a time
