How To Make A Simple Theme Park
Good Things To Have
- Fences
- Theme Park Furniture
- Trees
- Island Designer Tool
- Existing Infrastructure
Adjust To Your Preferences
All of the above items can be adjusted to fit the type of park you want to make. The color and type of furniture and fences is also flexible. If you're trying to recreate an existing theme park, using Custom Designs for furniture, backgrounds, and flooring will come in handy.
Few Playground Items
There are very few playground equipment items available in New Horizons. The staple rides of any theme park, the Roller Coaster and Ferris Wheel, are unfortunately nowhere to be seen, so you'll have to really be creative in how you use the furniture you have available!
Prepare A Plot Of Land

As your first step, decide where your theme park will go. Real Theme Parks are obviously quite massive, but since you'll have a limited amount of furniture, there's no need to make something overly big. Determine the scale of your park by the amount of available furniture you have!
Pave The Ground

Once you've decided the size, it's time to pave the floor. Having all the flooring laid down in advance will make the whole process much smoother. If you're modeling your work off a real park, look up pictures and try to make a custom design floor tile that matches.
Place Furniture

Once your floor is complete, start arranging your furniture. Once you start placing it, you may find things look different than how you envisioned them. Experiment with a wide variety of furniture to alter the look of your theme park. Fossils and Sculptures also work surprisingly well!
Add An Admission Gate
If you have have an admission gate at the entrance of your theme park, you'll really add a further layer of realism to your theme park, so give it a try!

Theme Park Examples
Ponsuke's Theme Park
The Japanese Youtuber Ponsuke, who is affiliated with our site, recreated a theme park which was featured in one of the Animal Crossing New Horizons commercials which aired in Japan! The video is in Japanese, but you can still get inspiration from the way he laid out furniture and use these ideas for your own project!
Our Writer's Theme Park

![]() | I was going for a "secret base" theme park vibe here. I surrounded the park with pine trees to get this effect. I figured if I couldn't make an exact realistic theme park, I might as well make something original! |
