To Be Held In 2021 After Update
Animal Crossing's 1.10 update will include a slightly updated version of the May Day Event. The event will feature an entirely new maze route, so you won't be able to rely on last year's route! Check out the article below for details.

From the beginning of May, Tom Nook will reward you with a May Day Ticket to celebrate workers on the island!
What Is May Day?
May Day is a celebration of workers, just like Labor Day in the real world. During May Day, players will receive a May Day ticket from Nook Inc. as a thank-you for working on the island.
Get May Day Ticket At Resident Services
During the May Day event, you will be able to receive a May Day Ticket from Tom Nook in Resident Services.

The May Day ticket can be received from Tom Nook only once & you cannot get it again by revisiting Tom Nook on following days. You cannot buy a May Day ticket at Nook's Cranny or redeem it with miles at the Nook Stop terminal.
Solve The Maze & Get Rover's Briefcase

May Day Tour is all about solving the maze and meeting Rover. The Maze is filled with obstacles & you have to use many techniques to reach the goal. Also, you can't bring anything with you on the May Day Tour!

1. Talk To Tom Nook To Start The Event

You need to first talk to Tom Nook at the Resident Services to start the event. Make sure you visit May Day Tour by May 7th, since the ticket expires!

2. Go To The Airport & Use May Day Ticket
Once you've talked to Tom Nook, head to the airport. Orville will mention something about a May Day Ticket, so select "I wanna fly!" and use your ticket there!
You Can't Bring Anything On The Tour
When you participate in the May Day Tour, you will be forced to leave all of your belongings. You need to find tools and materials in the tour to reach the goal. You can't buy tools from Wilbur either.
3. Solve The Maze & Talk To Rover
Once you've arrived at the May Day island, there is a maze waiting for you. Find the goal of the maze and talk to Rover. He will reward you with Rover's Brief Case.

You Can't Revisit May Day Tour
Once you go back to your island from the May Day Tour, you will never be able to revisit again. Don't forget to reach the goal and get reward before going back to your island!
4. You Can Also Get 9 Bell Vouchers
There are 9 Bell Vouchers on this island. 4 vouchers are right next to Rover and the other 5 are in the southwest part of the island.
Do Not Eat Fruits To Remove The Last 3 Trees
Note that in order to collect all vouchers, you need to break 3 rocks by eating 3 fruits. In order to do so, you need to reach the goal by cutting trees with an axe and removing the tree trumps with shovel, instead of eating fruits and removing the whole tree with a shovel.

You Can Only Jump In Front Of You

By tilting the joystick toward the hole to jump over the hole. However, you can only jump in front of you. For example, if you are at the A position of the diagram above, you can only jump to B position. (You can go back from B to A as well). If you want to go to C or D, you need to find the different route.
How To Reset Or Restart The Maze
If you get stuck in the maze, you can always go back to the starting point by using the Rescue Services in your Nook Phone. It will cost you 100 miles, but all the dropped items and trees will go be reset.
Procedure To Solve The Maze

| 4 | Get all tree branches, wood, stones, and Iron nuggets |
| 5 | Get DIY recipes for the Flimsy axe and Axe. Craft an Axe |
| 6 | Collect 3 fruits |
| 7 | Cut down the 3 trees placed next to each other and remove the tree trumps with a shovel |
| 8 | Talk to Rover to reach the goal |
1. Get The Shovel & Get A Fruit On Your Left
2. Eat Fruit & Remove The Whole Tree With Shovel
By eating a fruit, you will be able to remove the whole tree with your shovel.
3. Get Worn Axe
A Worn Axe can be found by jumping over the hole. Note that the Worn Axe breaks after using it once.
Cut The Tree & Get More Fruits
Once you get a Worn Axe, cut the tree located in the left upper corner. Then, get 2 fruits and a tree branch.
4. Use Fruit To Break Rock
In order to get the iron nugget and DIY recipes, you need to eat 2 fruits you found in step 3 and break the rock.
5. Get DIY Recipes For Flimsy Axe & Axe, Then Craft An Axe
6. Collect 3 Fruits
7. Cut The Last 3 Trees With Axe
Once you've crafted an Axe, the rest is simple. Find the 3 trees located next to each other and cut them down with your axe.

Update Game To Latest Version
To make sure that you'll get access to the May Day event, check your game's version. It needs to be version 1.2.0 for you to be able to access the new seasonal events.

Players will have gotten a free update on April 23, 2020. This update added Leif & Redd to the game, as well as other seasonal events such as Nature Day, etc. Make sure to install the update & restart the game!
Link Nintendo Switch Account
It is required for players to link their Nintendo Switch account to the user account on the Switch to get access to this event. Make sure to link your accounts together to participate in the May Day event!
