You can change the hill and water terrain tile by getting Permits later in the game, allowing for terraforming of the entire island at your will! Anything is possible with this new feature.

When you first arrive at the deserted island, you get a tent to live in anywhere on the island. If you would like to live in a larger house, you can get a loan to build a bigger house. By having your own house, you get storage to put furniture & items without actually placing them in your room.
