- Yellow Cosmos seeds
- Red Cosmos seeds
2 Plant red x yellow flowers diagonally from each other
3 Wait for flowers to grow (Needs 3 days to bloom)
4 Plant hybrid oranges to make Black Cosmos
- Orange (hybrid) x Orange (hybrid) = black

To grow black cosmos, you need to start with yellow and red cosmos seeds. Purchase seeds from Nook's Cranny to plant them on your island.

Nook's Cranny's seed catalog changes every day. If they don't have cosmos seeds for sale, you can ask a friend to bring some for you or go on a Mystery Island tour and grab cosmos there.

Place red and yellow cosmos seeds one space apart from each other to encourage cross-breeding and growth of orange cosmos flowers.

After you've grown orange cosmos flowers from the red & yellow seeds. Plant them diagonally, one space apart from each other also, to encourage black cosmos flowers to grow.

You can produce more black cosmos flowers by planting them beside each other. You only need 2 of these flowers to propagate them on your island.

Black Cosmos Sells For 240 Bells

You can sell Black Cosmos for 240 Bells at Nook's Cranny. Selling flowers is not one of the most efficient ways of making Bells fast, so it's not recommended to sell them.

Red and red will also make blacks.
However, I've also had instances where red and yellow make white. Is this perhaps a hybrid white?

ha i've been watering an entire field of orange cosmos for 2 months and not a SINGLE black has spawned. :( rip
