Master Sword - How To Obtain

[Required] Create Two Stamina Wheels

Two Stamina Wheels

When obtaining the Master Sword, an event occurs in which two Stamina Wheels are consumed. If the Stamina Wheel is not enough, the Master Sword cannot be obtained even if the other conditions are met. The number of Stamina Wheel will be increased to 2 after clearing 20 shrines and will increase the Wheel 5 times.

There Are 2 Routes To Obtain Master Sword

Geoglyphs Route
Geoglyphs Route
Required Time: 1~2 hr
Difficulty: Easy
It is easy as you only need to explore, but it takes time to move around the entire map.
Boss Route
Boss Route
Required Time: 30min~1 hr
Difficulty: Rather difficult
It is difficult for newbies because it goes through two boss fights.

Two ways to obtain the Master Sword are known so far: the Geoglyphs Route and the Boss Route. Both of these routes are irrelevant to the Main Quests, so the most powerful weapon can be obtained from the Early Game.

How To Get The Master Sword
  1. Head to 11 locations of Geoglyphs and collect Zelda's memories
  2. After collecting memories from 11 locations, a white dragon appears in Akkala
  3. Fly toward the white dragon from Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower
  4. Go near the Master Sword stuck in the white dragon's forehead then press A
  5. Follow the event instructions and long press the A button
  6. The Master Sword will be obtained after this event

※ The circled number indicates the memory number (3→4→5→6→7→8→9→10→12→13→15)

Collect memories at the 11 Geoglyphs on the surface. You can see the memories by examining a puddle somewhere in the Geoglyphs. The puddles are hidden until you get close to them, so if you are not sure, check the locations below.

Ride The White Dragon That Appears In Akkala

White Dragon

After collecting all the memories of Geoglyphs, a white dragon will appear in Akkala. It is recommended to fly out from Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower and move in the direction of the white dragon.

It Will Wander Around The Hyrule

Once the white dragon appears, it will wander around the Hyrule area. Even if you lose sight of it, you still have a chance to find its presence in the skies above the Hyrule region.

If you lose sight of the white dragon, the location of the Master Sword will be mapped for the Boss Route. If you are unable to find it, try the route to desfeat the boss.

Measure The Time To Land at Sokkala Sky Archipelago

Since the White Dragon passes under the Sokkala Sky Archipelago, if you measure the time of landing, it will be easy to land on the dragon's back when it comes.

At The Forehead Of The White Dragon, Press A

Go to the White Dragon's forehead and press the A button near the Master Sword to proceed to the event. You will be instructed to press and hold the A button during the event, so follow the instructions to obtain Master Sword.

Boss Route Strategy
  1. Head to Korok Forest via Minshi Woods Chasm
  2. Once you are on the surface, go to the hole inside the Great Deku Tree.
  3. Defeat Phantom Ganon inside the Deku Tree Chasm
  4. The Great Deku Tree will tell you the location of Master Sword
  5. Jump on the white dragon that is flying around Josiu Shrine and Great Sky Island
  6. Go near the Master Sword stuck in the white dragon's forehead then press A
  7. Follow the instructions and then long press the A button
  8. The Master Sword will be obtained after the event

Head to the Korok Forest via Minshi Woods Chasm. Check the map and fly from Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower.

Once you descend from the Minshi Woods Chasm, you'll find yourself in the Depths, where is challenging to navigate due to the lack of light. Bring some food with you, such as Brightcap. The ceiling that leads to the Korok Forest is illuminated like an altar and you can Ascend to reach the surface.

After reaching Korok Forest, a cutscene of the Great Deku Tree will begin. When you go inside the Great Deku Tree, you will see the Deku Tree Chasm. Jump into the tree.

As you reach the Depths, you'll confront the Gloom tentacles in a Gloom-infested area. This will lead to a fight with Phantom Ganon, so it's important to have recovery items on hand to avoid being defeated.

    Stay away from the Phantom Ganon, and wait for it to initiate an attack
  2. If its hand is on the side, backstep to use Flurry rush
    If its hand is held up, sidestep to use Flurry rush

Talk To The Great Deku Tree

After defeating Phantom Ganon, talk to the Great Deku Tree. He will tell you where to find the Master Sword.

After that, white dragons will appear around the Josiu Shrine and the Great Sky Island. Upon receiving the location from the Great Deku Tree, it will consistently be marked on the map. Therefore, it is advisable to pay attention to the dragon's arrival time and Fast Travel to the location.

Even If Broken, It Will Be Restored In 10 Minutes

The Master Sword like its predecessor will be restored in 10 minutes after it is broken, and can be used as many times as needed. The remaining time until it recovers can be checked from the inventory.

Beam Can Be Fired When Hearts Is Full

By pressing the R button when Hearts is full, you can fire a beam. This is a long-range attack, so it can be used to preemptively stun a target or catch an Apple at the top of a tree.
