Basic Cooking Method & Mechanism

Cook By Holding An Ingredient & Place It In A Pot

Cooking is done by holding the ingredients for the dish from the "Ingredients" tab and cooking them in a pot over a fire. There is no need to memorize the recipe, and a wide variety of combinations of ingredients can be used to cook food freely.

Cooking Procedures
Step 1: Hold the ingredients in your hand...
Step 2: Put it into the pot!
Recipes To Remember

In the beginning, remember to cook with five of the same ingredients. Cooking with five of the same ingredients together will result in a fish that has a maximum (5x) effect that the ingredients can have.

Insect & Monster Parts For Medicine

In Hyrule, materials that ordinary people would not eat, such as insects and lizards, can be collected and cooked. When combine with Monster Parts, these materials can be used to create medicines with special effects.

If The Combination Is Not Right, The Dish Will Fail

If the dish is out of the frame from the combinations mentioned above, it will be a failure. Link with an iron stomach can provide a small amount of recovery effect when eaten, but it will not be as effective as it should be.

TipsThe way Link eats changes depending on the food. It is interesting to see him eat the good food with relish, but swallows the bad food all at once.

Acquired Food Or Dish Will Unlock Recipes

Once you have obtained/cooked a dish, you can check the recipe in the cooking memo by pressing the "X" button. You can also check the effect time at a glance, so cook efficiently!

Maximum Number In The Inventory Is 60

The maximum number of inventory you have per dish is fixed. Similar to the previous work, you can only have a maximum of 60 in the beginning. It is a waste to fill up your inventory with dubious Food that does not help much, so it is better to eat those food as soon as possible.

There Is No Way To Make A Batch Of Food

There is no way to make multiple dishes at once. Even if you know what you want to make, there is no other way but to steadily create them one by one.

Multiple Simple Dishes Are Possible

When left at extreme temperatures for a certain period of time, some ingredients like animal meat, transforms into a simple dish like frozen meat which has a heat-resistant effect. Simple cooking, such as the following, can be created all at once because all you have to do is leave them in a specific location.

The Effect Is Not Very Strong

When cooking in a pot, the cooking effect is stronger due to the fusion of multiple ingredients. In comparison, simple dishes cannot produce an effect greater than the one from the ingredients. If you want to get a good effect, cook in a pot.

Where & When Can You Cook?

You Can Cook If You Have A Pot At The Start

If you have a pot on fire, you can cook anywhere in Hyrule. They can be found in various places, and are always located in human settlements and around horse inns, so stop by when you need them.

▲ There are cooking pots scattered throughout the Great Sky Island (marked by a red box in this photo), so take advantage of them.

In This Work, You Can Cook Anywhere With A Portable Pot

The key point in this work is that you can cook once, anytime and anywhere with the portable for that appears from the Zonai Gacha Station. However, it is really a one-time use, and it will disappear after cooking once, so it should only be used in an emergency.

Only Simple Cooking Is Possible Over A Campfire Alone

Some ingredients can be cooked just by placing by a bonfire. For example, an apple becomes a baked apple after a certain amount of time over a fire. If you just need a simple dish, bringing the ingredients close to a fire will do.

You Can't Do It Without A Fire

If there is no fire under the pot, you should prepare it by lighting it first. You can use any method to start a fire, such as with a Flint, carrying a fire started by lightning, or with a torch.

Rain Will Extinguish The Fire

Most cooking areas, such as Horse inns and field campsites, are often under blue skies. However, on rainy days, it is impossible to cook because the fire cannot be lit. In this case, it is better to use a covered cooking area in the village or town.

Effects Of Dishes & Medicine

Only One Effect Per Dish

Only one special effect of ingredient can be given per dish. When multiple effects are combined, they cancel each other out and the dish becomes a normal dish.

Methods & Effects Of Great Success

Effects Of Great Success

  • Effects duration extended by 5 minutes
  • Effect level up
  • Hearts recovery +3

Getting an excellent dish and eating it will grant one of the above effects at random. In normal cooking, the probability of an excellent dish is not very at around 5-10%.
