Blood Moon Conditions

Appears Once Every Seven Days In-Game Time

occurs every 7 days in-game time

Red Moon occurs after 7 days in-game time, at 12:00 AM. In the world of TOTK, time flows differently as 1 minute in real-time is equivalent to 1 hour in in-game time. Therefore, a Red Moon event will occur once 168 real-time minutes (or 2 hours and 48 minutes) . Time spent in menus and other non-gameplay activities does not count towards the 168 minutes needed for the Red Moon to occur, so it may take longer than that in real life.

Time Does Not Pass When Resting At A Campfire Or Stable

Even if you choose to start a new day from 5:00 AM while resting at a campfire or a horse stable, it will not count towards the time required for the Red Moon to occur. However, if it is already certain that the Blood Moon will occur on that day, resting across the date change will trigger the Blood Moon event.

Defeated Enemy Monsters Will Respawn

Defeated Enemy Monsters Will Respawn

When the Blood Moon occurs, all defeated monsters in the world will revive. This includes enemies that only appear in specific locations and Like Like, which will drop materials and chest again when defeated.

Sometimes Enemies Won't Respawn If You're Nearby

When a Blood Moon occurs near where enemies have spawned, there are times when they won't respawn. If you want to farm materials from enemies, it's best to move away from their spawn points and wait for the Blood Moon to occur.

Crushed Ore And Dropped Weapons Will Return

Crushed Ore And Dropped Weapons Will Return

When a Red Moon appears, crushed ores and dropped weapons will revive to their original positions. By taking notes on the location of these valuable weapons, you can retrieve them even if they were broken.
