General Updates
・By starting the game from within certain articles released on a specific Switch News channel (accessed via the HOME Menu) players can receive a number of in-game items.
*Depending on the state of gameplay progression or the location in which the data is reopened, there may be cases in which the items cannot be received.
Additional Fixes
・Fixed an issue where players could not progress beyond a certain point in the main quests “A Mystery In The Depths and “Secret of the Ring Ruins”, the side adventures “Hateno Village Research Lab” and “Lurelin Village Restoration Project”, the shrine quest “Dyeing to Find It”, and the side quests “Village Attacked by Pirates”, “The Incomplete Stable”, and “Seeking the Pirate Hideout”. Downloading the update will allow players to proceed past that point.
・Fixed an issue preventing fairies from appearing under certain conditions when they originally should have appeared.
・Fixed an issue preventing the meals provided by Kiana of Lurelin Village from changing under certain conditions.
・Several issues have been addressed to improve the gameplay experience.
The Duplication Bug And Frozen Meat Glitch Have Been Fixed
It appears that the duplication bug using a rapid-fire bow in Tobio's Hollow and the frozen meat glitch with Autobuild have been fixed in the Ver. 1.2.0 update.

Turn On The Automatic Updates
If you enable automatic software updates from the system settings, your Switch will automatically update when connected to the internet if an update is available. Unless you have a specific reason not to update, it is recommended to keep it turned on.
Update From The Home Screen

| 1 | Select the TotK icon on the Switch Home Screen and press the + button. |
| 2 | Select Update Software and then select Update via Internet. |
| 3 | After the software has been updated, the newest version will be displayed on the title screen. |
To update the software, hover the cursor over the game icon and press the + button to open up the menu. From there, select the "Software Update" to proceed with the update.
Update Via Match Version With Local Users
Even if you don't have an internet connection, you can still update the software if there's another Switch nearby that has already been updated with the system version 4.0.0 or higher. Simply use the Match Version With Local Users feature with the nearby Switch user to update your own.
How To Fix Update Issues In TotK
Check If Its Connected To The Internet
It is necessary to take note that updating is not possible without an internet connection. To verify if you are unintentionally disconnected from the internet or in airplane mode, please check your settings for any such occurrence.
Check If There Are Any Issues
If you are unable to update due to an error occuring, it is possible that the Nintendo eShop servers may be down. It is recommended to check for any announcements or updates on official Twitter accounts or websites for more information.
The Update Doesn't Always Get Released On Time
Even if the release date and time of the patch is officially announced, the update does not always come just in time. Depending on server congestion and your location, there may be a discrepancy of a few minutes to a few dozen minutes.
You Could Try To Turn The Power On & Off
When the software doesn't update at all, restarting the Switch console can be effective. Press and hold the power button, select "Power Options," and choose to restart
