To build a campfire, you need firewood, which can be obtained by chopping trees on the map with an axe. You can also create an axe by combining a Wooden Stick and a stone.

Build A Campfire With Wood & Materials
The easiest way to build a campfire is to throw an item that can create a fire, such as a Fire Fruit, on a pile of wood.
Build A Bonfire With Firewood, Flint & Weapons
If you have a flint, which can be obtained by breaking an ore deposit (black rock) with a hammer, you can make a bonfire by placing the flint near the firewood and then attacking the stone with a metalic or stone weapon, such as a metal or stone axe.
Campfire - Uses
Place The Food On The Fire To Make Grilled Food
Cooked food can be made by placing food near the fire. By placing an ingredients near a campfire, you can make cooked food. Apple will become Baked Apple, Skyshroom will become Bake Skyshroom. The item's effect will also increase.
Rising Air Currents Can Be Created By Placing Materials In Campfire
Hylian Pine and Cone Spicy Pepper can be added to the campfire to create an air current. It can also be used to move to higher ground so make good use of it.
