Cold Resistance - How To Protect Against The Cold

Equip Armor With Cold Resistance

The cold can be prevented by equipping armor with the Cold Resistance effect. You can find most of the armor you need in each area, so stop by an armor merchant every time you pass by a village.

One Available At Great Sky Island

You can get the Archaic Warm Greaves from a treasure chest under a large stump near the Gutnabac Shrine on Great Sky Island. Connect two crates from the ruins east of the shrine so you can climb up to the platform.

Available In Rito Village

It is possible to buy Cold-Resistant equipment at the Armor Shop in Rito Village. To advance from Rito Village, you will need cold-resistant level 2, so it's a good idea to get it there. You will need at least 500 Rupees for this so save your money.

Create Food & Elixir With Specific Materials

Cold can also be prevented by the effects of Food and Elixir with corresponding materials. It has a longer effect time than Armor, so it should be used as a bridge until you get cold-resistant armor.

What Is Cold Weather?

Climate Specific To Cold Regions, Such As Snowy Mountains

Coldness is a phenomenon in which the body temperature drops when entering cold regions, such as snowy mountains and Hebra. It is essential to take measures to counteract the gradual damage.

Check For Cold Resistance With A Thermometer

You can tell if Cold Resistance is needed by looking at Link's Thermometer. If the meter turns blue, cold resistance is required. Be careful not to ignore the cold indication since it will damage Link if you let him continue being cold.

There Are Two Levels Of Cold

There are two levels of cold resistance, and one Cold-Resistant Armor alone is not enough to protect against the cold in severe conditions, such as deep in the snowy mountains. It is recommended to use Cold-Resistant Armor x 2 or Cold-Resistant Armor + Cold-Resistant Foods to increase the cold resistance to level 2. It is not very practical, but even if you light a Torch and carry it around, it will be equivalent to Level 1.
