How To Catch Fish
Best Way: Electric Fishing
Using "Shock Fruit" or "Yellow Chuchu Jelly" in the water near fish will kill them all with electricity at once, making it easier to catch them.
Swim To Catch Fish
To catch a fish without Shock Fruit, you must dash by pressing the X button. However, the fish will swim away when you approach, so be sure to pick it up promptly with the A button. Remember that if your Stamina Wheel runs out, you'll drown.
Easier To Catch With Baits
When certain items are thrown nearby, fish will come closer to eat. To collect all of the fish at once, simply swim close to them. Fish tend to respond best to items that share their name. (Hyrule Bass→Hylian Shroom)
Kill Fish With A Bow
Fish can be easily caught if they are killed. It is possible to kill them with a bow, weapons, or spin attacks, without the need for electricity.
Can Be Done After Draining The Water
On certain Sky Islands, you can empty the pond and catch the fish. Remember that this is only possible in certain areas.
