Effects Of Heat And How To Resist

Receive Damage In Hot Areas Like The Desert

Heat becomes a problem for example in the desert during the day or when you get close to the Flame Gleeok. The thermometer will rise and you will receive damage (half a heart) over time. Also, note that heat is different from the damage you receive from flaming environments, like in some areas around Death Mountain.

There Are Two Levels Of Heat

There Are Two Levels Of Heat

Heat has two levels, Level 1 and Level 2, so if you are in an area where the heat level is 2, equipping only one armor with heat resistance (Level 1) will not be enough to avoid damage.

How To Resist Heat

Heat Resistance Methods
  1. Equip armor with heat resistance
  2. Cook foods with heat resistance effects
  3. Use water (lasts for around 30 seconds)
  4. Equip a frost weapon (only Level 1)

Equiping 2 pieces of armor with heat resistance will max out your heat resistance at Level 2. This is the easiest way to resist heat so be sure to have armor prepared for that.

Cook Foods With Heat Resistance Effects

Cook foods with heat resistance effects

For heat resistance we recommend cooking the Chilly Mushroom Skewer, which you can cook using 3 Chillshrooms. This will give you Level 2 heat resistance for 7 minutes 20 seconds. You can also extend the effective time by adding one Golden Apple.

Use Water (Lasts For Around 30 seconds)

You can resist heat for about 30 seconds just by touching water. This can be water you find on the map, using a Hydrant or using Sidon’s ability.

tipstips!!You can also get water from a Chuchu Jelly which you can obtain from a Chuchu. Place it on the ground and hit it, or you can throw it to turn it into water.

Equip A Frost Weapon (Only Level 1)

Frost weapon

Obtain items from, for example an Ice-Breath Lizalfos, and fuse it with a weapon to create a frost weapon, which gives you Level 1 heat resistance just by equipping it. You can also do the opposite by equipping a fire weapon to resist cold environments, so it's useful to remember that.
