How To Find The Light Dragon

Unlock Great Deku Tree Or Complete Dragon's Tears

There are two ways to make the Light Dragon appear. The first is to complete the quest by examing the 11 Geoglyphs, and the second is by defeating Phantom Ganon.

Both Ways Are Related To Getting Master Sword

Both events are related to acquiring the Master Sword. Learn how to get the Master Sword in the article below.

The Place Where It First Appears Is Decided

Following the White Dragon appearance event, the locations of its appearance are determined for each event as indicated below. If you miss the timing, you will have to search for the place it will go.

Run In The Opposite Direction Of Travel To Find It

If the Light Dragon is flying low in the sky, you will have a better chance of seeing it if you fly into the sky from Skyview Tower and aim for the opposite direction of the Light Dragon's route. At first, try flying from Skyview Tower to find it.

You Can Also Wait At Great Sky Island

To find the Light Dragon during its rounds in Hyrule, you should wait on the Great Sky Island. The dragon can be seen passing by twice - once in the east and once in the west.

When You Can't Find The Light Dragon

Complete The Phantom Ganon Route

If you happen to miss the Light Dragon's first appearance in the Tear of the Dragon route, it will fly up high into the sky and be challenging to locate. However, if you take the Phantom Ganon (Great Deku Tree) route, the Light Dragon will fly at a lower altitude, making it easier to spot.

Wait At Skyview Tower Or A Nearby Sky Island

After completing the Phantom Ganon route, the Light Dragon will fly at a low altitude in the sky. You just have to wait on the sky island near the Skyview Tower. But note that luck may not be in your favor, and you may have to wait for up to an hour.

Sensor+ Cannot Help

Since the Light Dragon can be registered on the Hyrule Compendium, you can use the Sensor+ to locate it. However, if the distance is too far, the Sensor+ will not react and may not be helpful.

How To Obtain & Use Light Dragon Materials

To collect materials, you must attack four parts of the Light Dragon. You can use Melee Weapons or Bows and Arrows to attack each part. Make sure to aim carefully if you're targeting a specific material.

Materials Can Be Collected About Every 10 Min

The Materials of the Light Dragon can be collected about every 10 minutes. Since they respawn while riding the dragon, it is a good idea to keep riding it and attack its parts every 10 minutes.

If It Falls, Chase It And Collect It

The material sparkles and falls to the ground, so you need to catch it on the way or pick it up on the ground. Try firing an arrow as close as you can to the material and collect it before it falls.
