How To Deal With Heat Effects

Wooden Weapons Catch Fire And Burn Damage Is Common In Places Like Volcanoes

Be wary of the intense heat when you go near Dinraal or volcanic regions, as it can go way beyond the temperature gauge and can cause flame damage (0.5 hearts) and ignite wooden weapons. Moreover, the heat experienced in desert regions and similar areas is distinct from regular heat, so different measures are required to cope with it.

Heat Resistance - How To Survive Heat Areas?

There Are Two Heat Levels

There are two distinct levels of heat which can be differentiated as Level 1 and Level 2 where equipping a single piece of armor with the Flame Guard effect (Flame Guard Lv1) provides protection against Level 1 heat, but it does not shield you from the damage caused by the more intense heat on Level 2 areas.

Bomb Flower Explodes Instantly When You Take It Out '

In areas affected by the extreme heat effects, be cautious as extracting a Bomb Flower on areas with high temperature will cause it to explode instantly, so it's best to avoid using Bomb Flowers during battle with enemies.

Craft And Use Fireproof Elixir

The Fireproof Elixir is the only consumable item with the Flame Guard effect which you will need Fireproof Lizards and Smotherwing Butterflies as recipe ingredients to make to get the desired Flame Guard level.

Use Water To Protect Against The Heat

It is possible to temporarily ward off the heat by simply having any part of the body soaked in the water. Some recommended options to get accessible water in times like this include using materials like Chuchu Jelly that generate water, Zonai Devices' Hydrant or with Sidon Sage Skill.

How To Get Flame Guard

Fireproof Armor Does Not Completely Negate Enemy Attacks

With only the Flame Guard, you'll take damage if you directly touch flames like a bonfire, but Fireproof negates it. Both Flame Guard and Fireproof can reduce damage from enemy fire attacks, but they do not provide complete immunity, so caution is still necessary.

Flame Guard And Fireproof Are Useless Against Lava

Even if Flame Guard or Fireproof effects are active, remember that you cannot walk on lava, so be mindful of that.

You Can Create A Scaffolding On The Lava By Pouring Water Or Ice Over It

When you want to cross over lava, you can create scaffolding on the lava's surface by applying items that can create water or ice such as Chuchu Jelly or Hydrant, turning the lava into solid rock paths.
