Penalties / Disadvantages Of Death

Be Returned To The Last Save Point

If you die, you will be transported back to the last Save Point. However, if you haven't saved recently, you'll be brought back to the Auto-Save point, which means you'll need to redo the events and re-collect the items.

An X Will Be Marked On The Map

After you die and retry, you will have an X on the map. There is no particular disadvantage to having an X on the map, but it can be used as proof of no-death completion.

What To Do When You Die

Save Before You Die

You can manually save at any time by pressing the + button and selecting System. It's a good idea to save before a battle or jumping off, especially if you've had to start over multiple times or the preceding steps are troublesome.

Restore All The Hearts

Make sure to restore your Hearts before facing a tough enemy or exploring dangerous areas. Unless they can defeat you with a single hit, there is still a chance to survive. Furthermore, increasing the maximum value of Hearts is also helpful for future battles.

Obtain Powerful Armor

If you find yourself defeated by a single enemy attack, it is a sign that your defense is insufficient. Try buying equipment with higher defense at the Armor Shop to reduce the damage.

Eating Foods That Boost Your Defense

Certain types of Food can have a defensive effect; while it cannot last as long as Armor, it can be useful when you only need to survive briefly.

Learn The Attack Patterns

The best way to avoid death is to study your enemy's attack patterns and learn to dodge or defend against them. By mastering the timing and direction of evasions and defenses, you can greatly reduce the risk of death, even if you face the same enemy again.

Escape By Travel

If you can't beat an enemy and you can't run away, travel to the nearest Travel Point. The battle state will be lifted, and you can keep any items you got.

Toward Water When Jumping Off

When jumping off a high point, falling toward water can prevent damage. It doesn't matter how far you fall, as long as you land in water, you won't take any damage. if you still have the Stamina Wheel, you can use the Paraglider to decrease your speed.

Do Not Leave Link In The Field

To avoid danger while taking a break from the game, open Inventory or have Link stay indoors. Don't leave him in the field where enemy attacks or bad weather like lightning may harm him.
