Update from my last comment: 100% catch rate (for me) with this trick. Treat them as a scorpion and/or tarantula; approach slowly with your net in catch mode (crouching) and when they make a certain movement, stop. Move again when they become idle again (dunno how to describe) and then catch them.

Which time is the best to catch it? It legit won't spawn on my island :')

Tip for that motherfk: Just walk towards it until you're in range, WITHOUT your net equipped. When you're in range, get your net out, turn around carefully and catch that little sh** that I totally did not spend 10 hours of my life trying to catch ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I actually had my brother come to my town and slowly push me towards it so I could catch it. But thanks for trying to help, I hope they patch this bug soon.

I had the same problem. I found a way though. Approach slowly without net equipped, then when you are at the distance you can catch. Equip net and swing. I’ve only tried once. Didn’t feel the need to catch it again lol I hope this works out the way it did for me.

I literally cannot catch this thing. Doesn't matter how slowly I sneak up on it, it just flies away when I get near it and I'm never close enough to catch it with my net.
