Can I use an area on my home island, or does it have to be a mystery island? because a tarantula spawned on my home island near some trees.

I got there tonight and there was no villager. None of my islands did today.

Can you go back to the island after leaving it? or is it a one chance/one time only?

I have searched like 15 islands and I haven't found it once. So many Nook Miles...
