Volley Star is a beach volleyball activity added in Version 1.3 as a permanent Hethereau Hobby. The Appraiser battles volleyball-crazed locals one after another on the road to winning the championship.

How to Unlock Volley Star
Volley Star becomes available after Version 1.3 launches on August 19, 2026. Head to the Volley Star activity page from the Hethereau Hobbies menu to get started.

2v2 Format
Volley Star is played on a 2v2 format. Pick one character to control and one AI partner, then take on your opponents as a duo. The match starts the moment you confirm your lineup, so check your matchup and field the right characters before you lock in.
Win by Reaching 7 Points with a 2-Point Lead
Score points by landing the ball in the opponents' court or forcing a botched receive. Use spikes, feints, and gaps in the opposing team's defense to break through. The first side to reach 7 points with at least a 2-point lead wins.
Start in the Rookie Series
New players begin in the Rookie Series, where each win unlocks the next opponent and the next difficulty. Clear your way through to climb toward the championship.
Character Stats and Talent Bread
Every Character Has Six Volleyball Stats
Each character has their own spread across six stats: Serve, Spike, Set, Receive, Block, and Dig. No two characters start from the same base spread, and even at max level their stat sheets stay different, so check a character's player profile to see their strengths and weak spots before fielding them.
Characters Earn EXP and Level Up Through Play
Both the character you control and your AI partner earn EXP from every match, which raises their volleyball stats over time. Note that quitting mid-match earns no EXP, so see each match through to the end.
Use Talent Bread to Steer Stat Growth
Talent Bread can be given to any character at any time to boost a specific stat of your choice, and it can even push past a character's past the cap. First place in the Weekly Match tournament pays out bonus Talent Bread, making the Weekly Match the main way to get the most out of this event.
What Is Weekly Match?
Weekly Match is a Tournament Mode
The Weekly Match is a tournament where teams battle for the championship. Pick your teammate, fight through the group stage for a knockout spot, then win the final. A full weekly run takes 5 matches and a single loss knocks you out.
Final Placement Determines Your Payout
Your weekly placement decides both your base Fons payout and your ranking on Hethereau's citywide volleyball leaderboard. Winning the whole tournament pays out a hefty lump of Fons plus Talent Bread in one go. Keep climbing the leaderboard and you can reach the top of Hethereau's rankings.
Weekly Match Fons Draw from the Tycoon Incentive Fund
Bonus Fons from Weekly Match placements draw from your Tycoon Incentive Fund allowance, which caps at 1,000,000 Fons and resets every two weeks. This cap is shared with Pink Paws Heist and Going, Going, Gone! earnings, so factor that in if you're running all three.
Volley Star Rewards
Fons and Talent Bread Are the Main Rewards
Both the Rookie Series and Weekly Match pay out Fons for every match you complete. The Weekly Match adds bonus Fons based on final placement and awards Talent Bread to top finishers.
