There are many facets of character progression and development. Prioritize the methods with the greatest impact, such as character levels and Arcs.
Character Development Elements
Enhance Stats with Lv. and Ascension
Since character levels provide the largest stat gains, leveling up and ascending your characters should be your top priority. Character EXP is obtained by consuming Hunter Guides and Beetle Coins, so we recommend collecting them daily.
Character Leveling & AscensionEquip and Enhance Arcs
Equipping an Arc to a character increases their ATK. Additionally, each Arc has additional effects such as increasing Break Intensity and boosting damage dealt, making it easier to deal damage to enemies.
How to Get S-Rank Arcs for FreeEquip Cartridges and Modules
Equipping a Cartridge enhances a character's stats and grants special abilities. Furthermore, fitting Modules that correspond to the Cartridge also grants additional stats and provides a Cartridge Upgrade (Set Bonus). This set bonus further enhances a character's capabilities and provides them with special effects.
Cartridge & Module GuideUpgrade Esper Abilities
Upgrading an Esper's Abilities typically improves its multipliers, allowing the skill to scale better with a character's stats and improving its overall performance. Enhancement priorities change depending on the character's role, such as attacker or support, and vary for each character.
Awaken to Unlock New Effects
Awakening a character in NTE unlocks additional effects and mechanics for that character. You can gain effects that improve combat capabilities, such as increased damage dealt and reduced skill cooldowns. Awakening enhances characters by consuming Mind Shards, which are obtained whenever you receive a duplicate of a character you already own.
Bonds Grant Small Boosts
At Bond Lv.10, you receive a small stat boost for the corresponding character. Since the boosted stat differs per character, decide which character you want to Bond with first by reviewing their Bond rewards.
Raise Stats with Anomaly Furniture
Anomaly Furniture that comes with Properties offers permanent stat boosts and grants effects such as reducing stamina consumption. Since the stat increases are not as significant compared to leveling or other enhancements, prioritize other enhancements first before focusing on Anomaly Furniture.

Focus on 4 Characters First
If you're just starting out, funnel your resource investment into 4 main characters. Since developing characters is expensive and requires various materials and resources, focusing your enhancements allows efficient character progression.
Team Building TipsPrioritize Your DPS
Prioritize enhancing your main DPS character first. In most cases, dealing more damage allows for faster resource farming, so your progression will become smoother.
Invest in Various Attributes
Different enemies are vulnerable to different attributes. By developing characters of varying Attributes, you can always take advantage of an enemy's weakness, making it easier to progress.
Activate Esper Cycles
An attribute's position determines the type of reaction
you can trigger when including characters of that attribute in your party. Switching into a character who belongs to an adjacent attribute triggers powerful effects known as Esper Cycles..
Consider Restoring Character Pixels
For even faster character development, you can choose to manually recover Character Pixel (stamina) to gather more materials. However, since recovering it requires De-noise Solution, Annulith, and other items, we recommend doing this only if you have plenty to spare.
