How to Change Gender and Steps

Change Gender from Menu Settings

You can change the protagonist's gender in NTE from the Settings menu. To change it again, there is a 24-hour cooldown, but no items are required.

Steps to Change Gender

1.	Open the "Menu" from the top right of the screen.
2.	Open "Settings" at the bottom of the Menu.
3.	Select "Other" from the top tab and toggle "Appraiser Gender".
4.	Select "Confirm" to change the protagonist's gender. This can only be done once every 24 hours.
5.	You will be returned to the title screen once, but after launching the game again, the gender change will be complete.

Which Gender Is Recommended?

Male Has Slightly Faster Movement

In NTE, taller characters move slightly faster, so the male protagonist has a small advantage in movement speed. However, since you can use Vehicles or switch to another character while traveling, the difference is not very noticeable.

No Differences in Skills or Progression

Other than movement speed, there are no differences in skills, stats, or game progression, so you can safely choose the appearance you prefer.

Differences Between Male and Female

Different Voice Actors (VA)

The protagonist's voice actor changes depending on the selected gender. Since the protagonist speaks during cutscenes and other scenes, choosing based on voice preference is also a good option. The male protagonist is voiced by "Yuma Uchida," while the female protagonist is voiced by "Maaya Uchida."

Different Appearance and Animations

Movement animations in the field and combat animations also differ depending on gender. Since there are no differences in skills or stats, this does not affect gameplay.

Different Outfit Options

Not only does the appearance change by gender, but the available Outfits you can equip do as well.

Actions Using Protagonist Appearance

For certain actions such as driving or visiting the Hethereau Detention Center, you are automatically shown in the protagonist's appearance. At the Hethereau Detention Center, the prisoner's gender also changes to match the protagonist's gender.
