How to Free Up Storage Space
Free Up Storage Space on Mobile
- Delete unnecessary apps and files
- Disable or remove apps you no longer use
- Clear cache
- Use cloud storage
- Transfer data to external storage

The easiest and most effective way to free up space is to delete unnecessary data such as apps, images, videos, and music. Apps and videos in particular tend to take up a large amount of space, so prioritize deleting them first.

On Android, you can free up space by disabling apps you no longer use. On iPhone, you can offload apps while keeping their data, so make good use of this feature.

While not as effective as deleting apps or videos, clearing cache is another way to free up space. Since clearing the cache does not remove the app itself, there is almost no downside to doing so.

Moving images and videos to cloud storage services such as iCloud or Google Drive is an easy way to free up space on your device. Note that storing large amounts of data may require a paid subscription.

Similar to cloud storage, transferring data to an SD card can also free up space on your device. For iPhones, you will need an SD card reader or a PC to do this, but some Android devices support SD cards natively.
How to Free Up Storage Space on PC
- Open Settings → "Apps" → "Installed Apps"
- Uninstall apps

Open Settings → Apps → Installed Apps from the Start menu.

Select the target app and uninstall it. Choose apps that take up a lot of space and that you do not use often.
Deleting images and videos also helps

Images and videos can also take up a significant amount of PC storage, depending on their size and quantity. The storage location varies by recording method and software settings, but they are often stored in the Videos or Pictures folder. Move unnecessary files to the Recycle Bin and then empty it to permanently delete them.
