Tornado Boss Mechanics
Level Is Fixed at 50

Inside the Detention Center, your level is fixed at 50. Since you cannot increase your combat power through leveling, learning the fight mechanics and timing your actions correctly is key to defeating Tornado.
Critical Riposte Cannot Be Used
In the Tornado battle, Dodge and Critical Dodge are available, but you cannot follow up with Critical Riposte. Focus your strategy around Block, which is a unique mechanic available during the Tornado fight.
Special Cutscene When Below 50% HP
A special cutscene triggers when Tornado's HP drops below 50%. After the cutscene, Tornado's attack patterns change, so be prepared to adjust your timing and reactions.
No Penalty for Defeat
There is no penalty for losing the Tornado battle. You can challenge Tornado again as many times as needed, making it a good opportunity to learn the attack patterns through practice.
Tips to Defeat Tornado
Watch Your Dodge Direction
When Dodging in the Tornado battle, keep in mind that the default Dodge moves you backward. If you input a backward direction while dodging, your character will retreat with their back turned to the enemy. Since this doesn't create much distance, be careful with your movement inputs.
Focus on Using Block
Since Critical Riposte is unavailable in the Tornado battle, use Block to wear down Tornado's Break gauge. Block has no cooldown and can be used at any time, making it feel similar to landing a Parry Attack.
Hold Basic Attack for a Charged Attack

During the Tornado battle, holding the Basic Attack button lets you perform a Heavy Attack (Charged Attack). It deals heavy damage but has a long startup, so use it whenever you find a safe opening while weaving in Basic Attacks.
Use Grapple Throws Whenever Possible
To deal massive damage to Tornado, use the Grapple Throw that becomes available after depleting Tornado's Break gauge. Whenever you trigger a Break, be sure to follow up with a Grapple Throw to maximize your damage.
Use Items During the Battle

During the Tornado battle, you can open the Menu and recover HP with items such as "Standard Lunch" obtained inside the Detention Center.
How to Get Standard Lunch

You can obtain Standard Lunch from a server during lunchtime inside the Detention Center.
Tornado Attack Patterns (> 50% HP)
Hammer Punch x2
Tornado leaps into the air and performs two consecutive hammer punches. Both hits are marked by warning indicators. The wind-up is easy to spot, making this one of the easier attacks to block consistently.
Charge
Tornado jumps backward before charging straight at you. Even at close range, Tornado will continue the running animation for a set period before attacking. A warning indicator appears right before impact, so time your Block with the warning.
Body Slam
Tornado performs a fast attack with a warning indicator. However, its wind-up is less noticeable than Tornado's other attacks, making it easier to react late. This attack is also commonly used after a catching/receiving motion, so watch for that animation to anticipate it.
4-Hit Combo
Tornado sidesteps before unleashing a 4-hit combo. Every hit has a warning indicator, but both the movement and attacks are fast. Be ready to react as soon as you see the sidestep. It is easier to handle by slightly delaying your Blocks between hits 1-2 and hits 3-4.
Tornado Attack Patterns (< 50% HP)
4-Hit Combo (Increased Sidesteps)
The attack follows the same pattern as the normal 4-hit combo, but Tornado performs two sidesteps before attacking instead of one. Don't let the extra sidestep throw off your Block timing.
4-Hit Combo (Additional Attack)
The attack follows the same pattern as the normal 4-hit combo, but Tornado performs a stomp before the sidestep. Be especially careful, as getting hit by the stomp can lead directly into a Throw, dealing heavy damage.
Spinning Attack
Tornado charges up before spreading both arms and spinning repeatedly. Five warning indicators appear in sync with the consecutive hits. Spamming Block will quickly drain your stamina, so time each Block carefully with the warning indicators.
Hammer Punch Combo
Tornado performs a large wind-up before unleashing a 6-hit hammer punch combo. Every strike has a warning indicator, but there are noticeable delays between hits 2-3 and hits 5-6. Repeatedly mashing Block will throw off your timing, so focus on matching your Blocks to Tornado's attack rhythm.
