What Is Racing in NTE?
Compete in High-Speed Street Races

Racing is one of the Hethereau Hobby features in NTE where you can test your driving skills against NPCs or other players. To secure victory, you will need sharp reflexes and a well-customized vehicle!
Unlocks at City Tycoon Level 2
You cannot race right away. The Racing feature unlocks once you reach City Tycoon Level 2. Focus on progressing through the main questline and collecting Fons to level up your City Tycoon rank early on.
Three Different Match Modes

There are three ways to race in NTE: Challenge (solo PvE), Online Battle (random PvP), and Friends (private PvP).
Match Modes Overview
| Match Type | Details |
| Challenge | - PvE mode against NPC racers. - Challenge 6 different racing teams. - Consumes City Stamina to earn rewards. |
| Online Battle | - PvP mode against other players. - Uses random matchmaking. |
| Friends | - Private PvP mode. - Race directly against invited friends. |
How to Participate in Races
Step-by-Step Guide (Challenge Mode)
1. Purchase a Car

To enter a race, you must own a qualifying vehicle. Save up your Fons and buy a car from one of the city's dealerships.
| Important! | Only Cars are eligible for racing! You cannot participate using motorcycles or scooters. |
2. Find the Race Location on the Map

Look for the pink flag icon on your map. This marks the location of a Race Challenge NPC. Tracking this icon will automatically adjust the in-game Time System to match the race's operating hours!
Race Availability by Team
| Operating Hours | |
![]() Sunday (8:00 PM - 8:00 AM) | ![]() Coastal Drift (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM) |
![]() Full Throttle (12:00 PM - 12:00 AM) | ![]() Meridian (10:00 PM - 10:00 AM) |
![]() Tempestas (4:00 PM - 4:00 AM) | ![]() Uncrowned King (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) |
There are 6 distinct racing teams in Hethereau, and each team is active only during specific hours of the day.
3. Adjust the Weather

Before talking to the NPC, check the weather! Racing in rain or snow dramatically reduces your handling if you are using standard tires. Unless you have specifically modified your car for bad weather, the best thing to do before any race is to change the weather to clear/sunny from the Time System located in the Menu.
4. Talk to the NPC and Select Course

Speak to the organizer NPC at the location. You will be presented with a menu to select which of the 6 team races you want to challenge.
5. Select Your Vehicle

Finally, pick your car. You can conveniently perform emergency maintenance directly from this screen before the race begins. Never start a race with low durability, as it severely impacts your top speed!
Racing Teams & Difficulty Guide
Team Difficulty Summary
| Team Name | Difficulty / Course Features |
| Sunday | Difficulty: ★☆☆☆☆ - Rec. Speed: 130-135 km/h+ - Courses have many sharp turns, but opponent vehicles are very slow. |
| Coastal Drift | Difficulty: ★☆☆☆☆ - Rec. Speed: 130-135 km/h+ - Lots of sharp turns, but opponents are easy to outpace. |
| Full Throttle | Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆ - Rec. Speed: 130-145 km/h+ - Course 1 requires heavy cornering. - Course 2 is mainly straightaways. |
| Meridian | Difficulty: ★★★★★ - Rec. Speed: 145-160 km/h+ - Narrow roads with lots of obstacles. - Requires precise braking on the mountain sections. |
| Tempestas | Difficulty: ★★★★☆ - Rec. Speed: 150-165 km/h+ - Tricky elevation changes. - Speed control on hills and tight cornering are crucial. |
| Uncrowned King | Difficulty: ★★★☆☆ - Rec. Speed: 165-170 km/h+ - Very few turns. - Victory depends on who has the highest top speed! |
Sunday

The "Sunday" team is perfect for beginners. While the courses feature sharp turns, the opponents drive slowly. You can easily win by maintaining a steady 130 km/h and focusing on corners without taking too much risk.
Coastal Drift

Similar to Sunday, Coastal Drift tracks are winding but forgiving. Opponents are not very aggressive, so keep your speed around 130 km/h and brake smoothly into turns to secure 1st place.
Full Throttle

Course 1 has blind corners, so memorizing the layout helps in this track. Meanwhile, Course 2 is mostly straightaways after its initial turns, which makes it the perfect track to unleash your car's top speed.
Meridian

This is the hardest team in the game! The roads are extremely narrow, making collisions highly likely. The White-Tail Woods Mountain Road track requires expert precision in driving and you must master heavy braking to survive the tight hairpin turns.
Tempestas

Tempestas tracks feature massive elevation changes. The key to winning here is maintaining momentum before going uphill, and braking early before descending into a turn so you don't fly off the track.
Uncrowned King

There is almost no complex handling required here. Uncrowned King is a pure drag race. To win, you must bring a car capable of 165-170 km/h or higher, or you will be left in the dust.
Tips for Getting 1st Place
Buy a Fast Vehicle

Speed covers up a lot of mistakes! If you aren't great at drifting or cornering, a high top speed allows you to catch up on straightaways. Always aim to buy the fastest car you can afford.
Modify Your Car's Performance

You can upgrade your car at the Rampage Players customization shop. Prioritize upgrading Engine parts to instantly boost your top speed and acceleration.
Change Tires for Bad Weather

If you choose to race in the rain, swap your tires! Standard tires lose grip on wet roads, causing you to slide out of control and lose acceleration.
Take Sharp Turns Without Drifting

Drifting looks cool, but it kills your momentum. For the best lap times, decelerate before a curve, and turn without drifting.
Hug the Inside of the Curve

Taking the outside lane forces you to cover more distance, wasting precious seconds. Turn early and aim to clip the inside edge of the track for the tightest, fastest line.
Memorize the Track

If you are struggling, just keep racing! You will naturally memorize the track layout over time. Knowing exactly where the sharp turns and braking zones are is half the battle.
Block Opponents From Behind

If another racer is trying to pass you, steer defensively to block their path! Be careful though, if they ram into you, you might lose control.
Use Position Reset if You Crash

If you hit a wall or get spun around, don't waste time trying to do a 3-point turn. Use the Position Reset function to instantly snap your car back onto the track facing the right direction.
| Tip! | Press D-pad Up on a controller or the R key on a keyboard to activate Position Reset. |
Maintain Your Vehicle

Never ignore low durability! A damaged car suffers a massive penalty to its speed and handling, meaning it won't be able to perform at its best. Always repair your ride before a big race.

Friend Matches: Inviting Friends
To play a private race, create a lobby and send out invites from your Friends List. Once all 4 slots are filled, the host can start the race. Invited players will see an on-screen prompt allowing them to join your lobby.
