How to Raise Character Levels
Use EXP Materials
To level up characters in NTE, use the EXP material "Hunter Guide". You will also use Beetle Coins, so be sure to collect them at the same time.

Get EXP Materials from Houdinii's Magic Stage
If you want to collect large amounts of EXP materials, clear "Collection" in "Houdinii's Magic Stage". You can get a large amount of EXP materials by consuming Stamina (Character Pixels) to claim rewards. This stage can be attempted as many times as you have Stamina, so we recommend farming it when you have Stamina to spare.
Also Available in the Mall and Exploration Guide
Hunter Guides, which are needed to level up characters, can also be obtained from the Mall, the Exploration Guide, and as Hunter Rewards. Progress through the game to collect EXP materials.
How to Ascend
Ascend Characters When They Reach the Level Cap
Ascension is a way to strengthen a character, and it becomes available when a character reaches a certain level. Consuming materials to ascend a character raises their level cap and increases their stats, such as HP and ATK.
Ascension Materials are Available as Anomaly Drops
Ascension materials are obtained by defeating enemies. Different enemies drop different materials, so you'll need to fight specific ones depending on what you need. You can find Anomaly spawn points on the map by "Tracking" the target enemy from the Enemy Shadow Elimination section of the Exploration Guide.
Also Available in the Mall's Mode Shop
Ascension Materials are also available in the Mall's Mode Shop. In the Mode Shop, you can purchase them with "Peril Hunt Medals", which are obtained by completing high-risk commissions.
