This is an early game guide for beginners in NTE (Neverness to Everness), including a walkthrough chart, early game team comp, and a list of daily tasks to prioritize.
Table of Contents
Is Reroll Necessary? Should You Reroll?
Not Recommended, Except for Limited Characters

Rerolling in NTE is generally not recommended, but it can be worthwhile if you're aiming for limited characters. Limited characters excel not only in combat but also in Exploration Abilities, making them highly valuable overall. However, each reroll attempt takes a significant amount of time, so it is not recommended if you want to start exploring the world of NTE as soon as possible.
How to Reroll Fast?No Need to Reroll for Standard

We do not recommend rerolling for Standard Characters. Even if there is a specific character you want, you can select and obtain one character from the gacha through the Strange Encounters banner.
Rerolling for Arcs is Not Recommended

In NTE's Scarborough Fair (gacha), equipment items known as Arcs can also be obtained, but rerolling for them is not recommended. Even if there is a specific Arc you want, you can exchange Tri-Keys for it at the Arc Shop.
Early Goal: Clear Chapter 1
Early Game Goal is to Clear Chapter 1

The primary early-game objective in NTE is to clear Chapter 1 of the Episode Quest. Upon completion, Character Pixels (Stamina) are unlocked, enabling participation in Daily Quests and the collection of training materials, so prioritize reaching this milestone as soon as possible.
Don’t Skip Tutorial Quest After Chapter 1

After unlocking Character Pixels, you can obtain City Stamina by progressing through the tutorial quest. In NTE, in addition to Character Pixels, there is a separate City Stamina used for earning money (Fons), so it is recommended to unlock this as early as possible.
Careful When Returning to the Bureau

If you return to the Bureau of Anomaly Control without unlocking any Teleport Points other than the one at the Bureau, you will have to travel a long distance back to the city on foot, so proceed with caution. When fast traveling to the Bureau of Anomaly Control in the early game, ensure that at least one Teleport Point in the city is unlocked in advance.
Early Game Walkthrough
Walkthrough Chart
- Follow the Quest Marker
- Enter Your Player Name
- Start the Combat Tutorial
- Proceed with the Investigation
- Defeat the Boss "Picture Frame"

As you follow the quest marker, several cutscenes will play, and the story will progress.

While following the quest marker, tutorials explaining various game features will be displayed.

As you progress through the story, you will reach a scene where you are prompted to enter your player name.

After entering your player name, the combat tutorial will begin. You will be guided through explanations while practicing mechanics such as "Critical Dodge" and "Esper Cycle."

When the combat tutorial starts, Mint will join as a party member.

During the combat tutorial, you will encounter a segment where you control a character in first-person view inside a train. At this point, you can interact with objects to view lore text; however, if it is not necessary, proceed directly toward the quest marker.

After passing through the train section, you will encounter a stronger enemy than any faced previously. Its attack patterns are relatively easy to read, so defeat it while practicing “Critical Riposte.”

The Picture Frame will appear as a boss. In this battle, you can learn the mechanics of "Parry Attack" and "Break."

After defeating the boss, Picture Frame, a cutscene will play, and the tutorial will conclude. You will then regain control in Bridge Crossings, where Chapter 1 begins.
- Talk to Mint at the Railroad Crossing
- Battle with Taygedo
- Follow the Quest Marker After Rest
- Enter the Photo Studio and Proceed
- Defeat the Boss "Film - MANISH"

From this point onward, you can move freely. To continue the Episode Quest, speak to Mint in front of the Railroad Crossing. She will guide you to Eibon, which will serve as your base.

During the tour, you will encounter dialogue scenes with Mint and event cutscenes that introduce the Wertheimer Tower and ReroRero Phone Booth. These are key facilities distributed throughout the city, and once unlocked, they enable Fast Travel.

After arriving in Eibon, you will engage in a battle with Taygedo. In this encounter, items will drop when the enemy is Broken, and picking them up will deal additional damage.

After the battle, the event will progress, and you will be assigned a dorm room. You can recover HP by resting in your room, or by interacting with a Wertheimer Tower or a ReroRero Phone Booth.

After resting in the dormitory, Scarborough Fair (the gacha system) will be unlocked.

After resting, return to Eibon and speak with Adler to progress the quest. You will then head to the Photo Studio at the city entrance. At this point, you can enjoy conversations with your party members, or you may also proceed directly if you prefer.

When traveling from Eibon to the Photo Studio, you will receive a Cartridge and a Module as rewards. These are character enhancement items, so make sure to equip them.

Enter the Photo Studio, defeat enemies while investigating, and proceed with the walkthrough. There are multiple interactable points on the map, but in general, you can clear the area without issues by following the quest marker.

Partway through, a camera frame will begin to appear. If you remain within the rectangular highlighted area of the viewfinder, you will take damage after a certain amount of time, so move out of the zone immediately.

As you progress, Film - MANISH will appear as the final boss. It uses multiple projectiles and wide-area attacks, so proceed carefully and defeat it.

After clearing the Photo Studio, advance the quest by returning to Eibon and resting to complete Chapter 1. Daily Quests will be unlocked after resting.
- Proceed with the Tutorial Quest
- Unlock City Tycoon
- Clear the New Anomaly Commission
- Raise City Tycoon to Lv. 2 After Clearing

After clearing Chapter 1, continue with the Tutorial Quest. If the purple quest marker is not displayed automatically, you can select it from the quest list in the Menu.

Following the purple quest marker will trigger an event in front of Pink Paws Bank, unlocking City Tycoon.

City Tycoon can be upgraded using Fons (currency). Upgrading it will unlock various features.

An Anomaly Commission will be generated after a conversation with Chiz. Follow the purple quest marker and defeat the enemies.

At the end of the quest marker, you will encounter Bopp. In this battle, there is no level scaling like in the Episode Quest, so it will be easier if you strengthen your characters before engaging.

Use the Fons obtained and the rewards from defeating Bopp to upgrade it. Reaching Lv. 2 will unlock Hethereau Hobbies, allowing you to use City Stamina.

What to Do After Unlocking City Stamina
Aim to Progress the Episode Quest

After unlocking City Stamina, it is recommended to continue progressing the Episode Quest. You can proceed to Episode 2 by checking Taygedo's chat.
You Can Detour from the Episode Quest

You can now act freely, so after unlocking the various stamina types, you are free to prioritize your preferred activities. If you need guidance outside the Episode Quest, refer to the following.
- Look for Content That Interests You
- Progress the Tutorial Quests
- Progress the Exploration Guide
- Unlock the Map
- Progress Various Quests

NTE features a variety of content. A good starting point is to open the map and head to any location that catches your interest.

Tutorial quests progress by upgrading your City Tycoon, which unlocks various content. By following the guide, you can gradually unlock multiple features.

At City Tycoon Lv. 4, you can unlock “The Cafe by Origen.” This provides a shop that generates Fons over time, and upgrading it further increases its Fons earning efficiency.

By progressing through the Exploration Guide, you can efficiently increase your Hunter Level. Increasing your Hunter Level also raises your Appraisal Level, which unlocks further character enhancement.

By increasing your Hunter Level, similar to City Tycoon, you can unlock Quests and Mods.

Unlock the Wertheimer Towers and ReroRero Phone Booths in advance. This is convenient, as it not only expands your Fast Travel points but also reveals the locations of shops and events.

In NTE, there are various quests besides the main story, such as Spinoffs and Side Quests. Complete any available quests whose conditions you meet.
Early Game Team Composition
Protagonist, Mint, and Adler Are Fine

For team composition, select adjacent Attributes to activate Esper Cycle. You can proceed with the default three-person team, including the automatically assigned protagonist.
Pull Standard Banner at 40 Fabricated Dice

As you progress through the game, once you have collected 40 Fabricated Dice, pull on the Standard Banner. With the Beginner Discount, the first 50 pulls on the Strange Encounters Banner are 20% off, allowing you to complete 50 pulls using 40 dice. After reaching 50 pulls, you can select and obtain a Standard S-Rank Character.
Early Game Training Methods
Level Up Only the Characters You Use

Only level up the characters you are currently using. Leveling materials are primarily obtained by consuming stamina, so leveling too many characters will quickly deplete your resources.
Equipping Consoles and Arcs is Enough

For enhancement elements such as Consoles and Arcs, simply equip suitable ones for now. These enhancement items are also obtained by consuming stamina, similar to level-up materials, so it is more efficient to wait until you acquire stronger ones.
