Message in a Bottle Location

There are Two Locations on the Island

NTE (Neverness to Everness) - Messages in a Bottle Map Locations

We have confirmed the locations of two different Messages in a Bottle on Sunward Island. Note that both bottles contain the same message.

Though this has yet to be confirmed, you may only need to locate one bottle before proceeding to the next part of the Strange Tale.

The second bottle is found on the southwestern side of the island, behind the Sunward Resort, near the Bopp boss fight.

You Can Repeat This Daily

This Strange Tale includes multiple dialogue choices, and you can re-attempt this tale once a day. You cannot receive rewards from choosing the same dialogue, but you can view all dialogue content.

You can Skip the Bottles

If you want to repeat the Strange Tale, you can skip checking on the Bottles and start from obtaining the Strange Firestone onwards.

How to Complete the Strange Tales

We are currently verifying the items that can be obtained from the final choice.

  1. View a Message in a Bottle
  2. Obtain the Strange Firestone
  3. Light the Nearby Bonfire
  4. Change the Time to 18:00 (Rainy)
  5. Face the Shore to See a Man

Begin the Strange Tale by viewing a Message in a Bottle. There are 2 locations where the bottles can be found, but it should not matter which one you check.

Note! It's Efficient to Check No. 2
NTE (Neverness to Everness) - Messages in a Bottle Map Locations

It's more efficient to check the southern bottle since it's closer to the following parts of the Strange Tale.

Obtain the Strange Firestone
NTE (Neverness to Everness) - Strange Firestone Location

The Strange Firestone is marked by a Strange Tales icon on the western side of Sunward Island. Check the blue bag on the small boat to obtain the Strange Firestone.

Light the Nearby Bonfire
NTE (Neverness to Everness) - Bonfire Location

Once you have obtained the Firestone, approach and interact with the bonfire nearby.

Change the Time to 18:00 (Rainy)
NTE (Neverness to Everness) - Change Time and Weather

Once the bonfire is lit, change the time to 18:00 (6PM) and set Rainy weather.

Face the Shore to See a Man
NTE (Neverness to Everness) - Man on the Shore

After lighting the bonfire and adjusting the time, a man will appear towards the shore and fall to his knees.

BugWhat if the Man Doesn't Appear?

If the Man does not appear, try to adjust the time forward another couple minutes. Try 18:15, 18:30, etc., and if that still doesn't work, another solution we've found is to collect both Messages in a Bottle.

Speak to Sewer Serpent
NTE (Neverness to Everness) - Dialogue

Approach the Man and interact with him to earn Footprint Points. Even if you get the code wrong, you will still complete the Strange Tale. Only dialogue content changes depending on your choices.

Dialogue Choices and Rewards

We are currently verifying the final results of each dialogue option.

The codes "Gerudo" and "Gouda" ultimately present the same final choices.

"Persuading" Triggers Combat

NTE - Fighting Sewer Serpent

Persuading the Sewer Serpent will trigger combat. Since there are no additional rewards for this choice, we recommend avoiding it unless you want to cycle through and check all the content.

"Let the Garuda go" Rewards an Item

NTE (Neverness to Everness) - Let the Garuda Go

Allowing the Garuda to leave will end the conversation as is, and you will receive the Hethereau Detention Center item "Spoon."
