What is Awakening?

Additional Character Abilities

NTE (Nevenress to Everness) - Aurelia Awakening

Awakening a character in NTE unlocks new abilities or enhances existing ones. These effects are usually tied to gaining advantages in combat, such as increased damage dealt and reduced skill cooldowns.

A6 is the Final Awakening Lv.

You can Activate an Awakening a total of 6 times, meaning you need a total of 7 character duplicates to reach A6.

Resonance Effects at A3 and A6

NTE (Nevenress to Everness) - Resonance Effects

At A3 and A6, character-exlusive Resonance effects are unlocked. The bonuses from Resonance Effects are significantly stronger compared to the standard Awakenings.

Awakening Effects are Adjustable

NTE (Nevenress to Everness) - Awakening Effect Selection

You can choose the activated effect during Awakening a character. Additionally, even after choosing an effect, you can de-activate it and select a different effect at any time from the Awakening screen, allowing you to customize your character on the fly.

How to Awaken

Requires Character Duplicates

NTE (Neverness to Everness) - Material Cost

Awakening allows you to enhance characters by consuming Mind Shards, which are obtained when you get a duplicate of a character you already own. Each character can be Ascended up to A6, and each Ascension can enhance skills or unlock new passive effects.

Awakening Changes Playstyle

Awakening characters will reduce skill cooldowns, increase damage, and extend skill effect durations, significantly changing how the character feels to play. Therefore, you should prioritize Awakening the characters you want to use as the core of your party.

Awaken from Character Screen

NTE (Neverness to Everness) - Mint Awakening

Awakening can be done from the Awaken section of the character screen. For each Mind Shard, you can increase a character's Awakening by one level. Unlocking a stage will unlock that Awakening level and display the character's icon.

Different from Ascension

NTE (Neverness to Everness) - Aurelia Ascend

Note that Awakening is different from the Ascension system, which raises a character's level cap. Characters can also be enhanced in various other ways, such as Esper Abilities so take note of what you're upgrading.

How to Level Up & Ascend Characters

How to Get Mind Shards

Obtainable from Scarborough Fair

NTE (Neverness to Everness) - Edgar Dupes

In the gacha system of NTE, Scarborough Fair, each time you pull a character you already own, it will be converted into one Mind Shard for that character. If you want to Awaken, aim for duplicate characters in the gacha.

Gacha Banner List and Schedules

Buy from Warp Exchange

NTE (Neverness to Everness) - Warp Exchange

Some characters can be purchased through the Mall's Warp Exchange by trading in Warp Pieces, which are also obtained from the Scarborough Fair. You can obtain a character's Mind Shard by exchanging for a character you already own, so purchase them as needed.

How to Use Mall

Obtainable from Some Events

NTE (Neverness to Everness) - Hunter

In addition to what we've already mentioned, characters may also be obtainable as event rewards. You can also get Annulith and dice needed for pulling the gacha, so be sure to actively participate in events when they are held.
