Bring Stagger Up To 200 or 300%

Overview Chart
Step | Procedure |
---|---|
1 | Prepare some of the recommended abilities below |
2 | Engage in a battle with an enemy and stagger it (Fat Chocobo easy mode is a good target) |
3 | During the stagger, use the recommended abilities on the target |
Use Weapon Abilities
As a requirement for Battle Intel Report #12, you will have to increase your stagger damage to 200%. However, you should know from playing the game that Stagger bars usually go up to only 160%. This means you'll have to use some other special means to get that extra bonus. This can be done by using special weapon abilities.
Recommended Weapons & Abilities
Weapon | Ability | Where To Get |
---|---|---|
Hardedge | Infinity's End | Ch. 9 Weapons Store |
Purple Pain | True Strike | Ch. 16 In a Chest |
Mythril Rod | Ray of Judgment | Ch. 11 In a Chest |
Although there might be others, we've identified 3 weapons that have an ability which boosts Stagger damage. Note that whichever ability you choose, you'll have to land two to get past 200%! We recommend bringing at least 2 of these abilities with you.
Purple Pain - True Strike
Tifa's Purple Pain will give you this ability. Arguably the best one, as it only costs 1 ABP to use. Two quick uses of it during Stagger will immediately send you over 200%!
Hardedge - Infinity's End
This ability is acquired from the sword Hardedge, and it requires 2 ABP. The Hardedge is a powerful weapon that's worth getting, so we recommend having this ability.
Mythril Rod - Ray Of Judgment
The Mythril Rod will give you this ability, which deals a great amount of damage, but requires Aerith to stand still for quite some time. This ability is very powerful later on, so we recommend unlocking it too.
