The Destruction of Mako Reactor 1 Walkthrough Chart

| 1 | Advance and eliminate the 2 Security Officers |
| 2 | Vault and fight 2 more Security Officers |
| 3 | Proceed further until you get to the cutscene |
| 4 | Continue further and defeat the guards and the Guard Dog |
| 5 | Ride the elevator take care of the enemy patrol |
| 6 | Pull the lever and meet up with the team. Join them and enter Mako Reactor 1 |
| 7 | Fight the enemies and ride the elevator, exit and have Barret join your party |
| 8 | Go downstairs and carefully go through all of the lasers |
| 9 | Proceed further and fight the Sweeper |
| 10 | Continue to descend and reach the Mako reactor core |
| 11 | Plant the bomb and choose between 20 and 30 minutes |
| 12 | Defeat the boss |
| 13 | Escape by ascending towards the top of the reactor |
| 14 | Defeat the enemy Sweeper to progress |
| 15 | Continue towards the elevator and eliminate enemy patrols that bar your way |
1~7: Eliminate The Enemy Patrols
The first few parts of this chapter teaches you with the basics of the game. You can continue further by simply eliminating the enemy patrols.
7: Use Barret For Ranged Attacks
Some enemies that you'll encounter use ranged attacks and cannot be reached with Cloud's melee strike. Use Barret's ranged attacks to take care of these types of enemies from a distance! D-pad can change the character to cotrol.

To defeat the Sweeper, you can use either Barret's Thunder or use Cloud and roll towards the flanks to defeat it. The Sweeper attacks only those that are directly in its front, so capitalize on its weakness and hit its sides!
11: Choosing Between 20 & 30 Mins.
You can choose between 20 and 30 minutes as a setting for the bomb before fighting the boss. This timer does not run during the boss fight, and will run only after you have defeated the Scorpion Sentinel.This will affect the time you have to escape the facility later.

The Timer starts once you defeat the boss. Ascend and escape the exploding reactor, defeating the guards and patrols that you meet along the way.

Use Barret's Thunder
The Scorpion Sentinel is weak against Barret's Thunder. Exhaust Barret's MP & use Ether if you can to quickly bring down the boss's HP. Do not worry about having no MP for Cure as you are likely to have enough Potions for this fight.
Hit The Field Generator
The Field Generator creates a shield around the Scorpion Sentinel, blocking and severely reducing the damage it takes. During this time, the only way to damage it is to hit it directly from the rear. Destroy the Field Generator to remove this effect!
Beware Of Scorpion Strikes
The Scorpion Sentinel will use its tail to hit targets from behind. Be wary of this move when you're targeting the Field Generator. Roll away from the boss to evade this damaging move.
Use The Debris As Cover
When the Scorpion Sentinel charges for the Tail Laser, use the time to get yourself behind the debris to prevent damage. Use this time to heal or use Ether to replenish your MP.
