Farm Via The Starting Area Of Chapter 16

Farm Via The Starting Area

You can get up to 279 AP in just 4 & a half minutes in the starting area of Chapter 16: The Belly of the Beast. You can reset the run once you reach the stairs of the building. Note that you need to finish the game first so you can loop this run using Chapter Selection.

Recommended Materias & Abilities

This method is significantly easier & faster if you equip a character with MP Up & Magnify Materia. Use the Magnify Materia & link it to a Fire Materia so you can use Fira/Firaga to quickly dispatch enemies.

Special thanks to one of our readers for sharing this method!!!

Farm Via The Corneo Coloseum

Corneo Colosseum

The Corneo Colosseum in Chapter 14 subjects you & your party to a gauntlet of fights. These battles might even include mini-bosses & can be repeated to get as much as you need.

Farm Using The Training Grounds

Farm Via The Starting Area

The Training Grounds located in Chapter 4 of the game can be used to farm some AP. This method involves killing all 3 Sentry Rays & resetting them with a press of a button. Use First Strike Materia and Iron Blade to make things faster.

The AP Up Materia increases the AP gained for a linked Materia by 100% after each battle. You can get it first as the Pedometer Materia in Chapter 14 and completing its 5000 step condition transforms it into the AP Up Materia.

Clear The Game for 3x AP

Finishing the game rewards you with a permanent 3 times AP boost and 2 times EXP Boost. This is especially useful if you want to completely MAX out all Materias in the game. You can also go back to previous chapters to get any Materias that you might have missed.

after you beat the game go to chapter 17 and proceed to the battle sim. put magnify+fire/first strike on cloud and do two-person team vs high flyers. wipe out the first round then give up and rechallenge. repeat over and over. costs 400gil each time but gets you 48 ap in about 10 seconds.
