Recommended Nature
Jolly or Hasty is recommended
Nature | Stats Compensation |
---|---|
Jolly (Build that increases Characteristics) | SPD ⬆/S.Atk ⬇ |
Hasty (Strong with Physical and Special Moves so great for Story Progress) | SPD ⬆/Def ⬇ |
Adamant (Build that increases Characteristics) | Atk ⬆/S.Atk ⬇ |
Naive (Strong with Physical and Special Moves so great for Story Progress) | SPD ⬆/S.Def ⬇ |
Since Meowscarada has high base Speed, Nature that supports speed is recommended like Hasty and Jolly. However, do not use Nature that reduces ATK.

The above is what you can select carefully with your first Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Carefully select Nature and gender according to your own preferences.
Do Shiny appear?
In the previous version, Shiny was not available when the first Starter Pokemon was received. Therefore, it is highly likely that they will not be available in Pokemon SV as well.
When you start the game, proceed until just before you talk with Clavell and receive the Starter Pokemon. There is no problem to proceed without setting anything until after the conversation in the picture.
When you are ready to receive the report, press the X button to open the "Settings" menu. Next, change "Autosave" to "Do not do" and save the file manually. (Note that if you leave Autosave turned on, you will not be able to carefully select the items you want to save.
If you are not satisfied with the Starter Pokemon you have, exit the game from the home screen. You will be able to return to the data you had just before you selected your Starter Pokemon, and you can repeat the reset process until you are satisfied.
