Effects Of Lags In The Game
May Lose An Opportunity To KO Enemies
Lagging while on a match can cause your team to lose an opportunity to defeat your opponents or score on their goal since the lag issues may show the things you are doing that is not in real-time.
May Cause Instant KO
Lag issues during a match especially during a team fight may cause your Pokemon to faint instantly since even you're doing something, it's possible that the opposing team sees you are only standing so they may attack you at once to KO your Pokemon.
May Cause Laggy Character Selection
Encountering lag issues from the Pokemon selection is also unfavorable on your part as your ally can take the Pokemon you want to use. Note that this particular lag may be caused by the Pokemon Unite server's own delay - it's not necessarily your connection that's at fault.
May Disconnect To The Match
Frequent lag issues may lead to match disconnection which can be bad to both your teammates and yourself as your teammates are outnumbered and you can be reported and lose Fair Play Points.
Fair Play Points GuideWhat To Check Before Playing
Check Your Internet Connection
Before playing the game, make sure you are connected to a more stable connection beforehand. Even if you have a steady connection, there may be other devices linked to the same router that divides the connection into many devices.
How To Fix Network ErrorsCheck Your ISP For Any Issues
There are times that the game lags even if your connection is stable. So try to check the internet speed via PC or smartphone that is connected to the same router. If your ISP connection is suspiciously unstable, try to check for any news from your ISP provider or try to contact their Customer Support for information.
Check If Your Device Is Connected Properly
Even you have a good connection, you should check if your device is connected properly. There are times that your device connection slows down when you are far from the router, so try to stay near to your source of connection or use a frequency with a higher range.
How To Avoid Lag Issues In Switch
Check If Your Dock Blocks Signal
It is possible that the Switch Dock blocks the signal from your router to your device, especially if you are using a customized dock. Try to check your Switch dock if this blocks any signal or try to place your Switch setup near the router for a faster connection.
Use 2.4GHz Internet Connection
Although 2.4GHz is more susceptible to interference, it's better to use this connection type if you are far from your router as this is more transmissible in longer distances and it goes through concrete walls.
