When dealing with several enemies in the lane, you can unleash Stored Power to slow them down while causing them damage. At any given moment, up to five psychic power blasts can be stored. After employing this move, Espeon's movement speed increases for a short period of time, which you may use to chase down targets or escape from enemies. It also increases Espeon's basic attack power, allowing you to use it to finish off targets.
Take Advantage Of Your Future Sight
Espeon's Future Sight can cause damage that accumulates over time on any designated target. Each time one of these moves delivers damage, the cooldown of Future Sight is shortened, allowing you to use it again. When an opponent is knocked unconscious, you can reserve an extra power-up of this move, which increases the damage of your follow-up attack while recovering Espeon's HP in the process. This may flip the tables in close combat situations.
Held Items To Increase Firepower
Espeon's damage can greatly increase when you amplify it when equipping Choice Specs to increase the damage of moves by a minimum of 40 when they hit which you can still improve when you pair it with Sp. Best Builds For Each PokemonEspeon- Basics & Advanced Tips
Espeon Basic Mechanics
This section has basic tips and tricks that you must know to effectively control Espeon. Treat this as a supplement to the Beginner's Guide.
Basics |
---|
① Maintain Distance In Team Battles ・Espeon, as a ranged Pokemon can attack its opponent's from a distance. Use your range to be able to pressure opponents safely at arms length to avoid absorbing too much damage, especially from melee enemies like Machamp that can nullify moves. ▶ How To Extend The Range Of Moves |
② Lock On Targets For Ranged Attacks ・Make sure to turn on the Lock-On Icon in the settings to focus your attacks in a designated target. This way Espeon's ranged moves hits targets more often. It will also make aiming easier since ranged attacks are harder to hit on agile Pokemon. Having an ally like Slowbro to hold down targets will also help knocking out enemies faster. ▶ Best Settings - Controls & Graphics |
③ Create Opportunities With Unite Move ・Espeon can learn its Unite Move early and us Psychic Solare to create opportunities for its allies to attack immobilized enemies trapped in mid-air. Quite helpful during teamfights especially on the final stages where both teams struggle to capture Zapdos. This could turn the tables in close battles so make sure to save it in the last 3-minutes mark. ▶ Teamfight Battle Tips |
Espeon Advanced Mechanics
This section is for those looking to up their play with Espeon. This is a supplement to the Advanced Players Guide.
Advanced |
---|
① Keep An Eye Out For Enemies With High Mobility ・Agile Pokemon like Speedsters can easily dodge Espeon's ranged attacks and burst it down. They have a lot of potential to do a lot of damage in a short period of time with their burst power so make sure to watch out for them. Its best to pair up with an ally when tackling with them in your designated lane. ▶ All Speedsters List |
② Pay Attention To Boosted Attacks ・Keep an eye on your increased attack gauge since unlike other Pokemon, Espeon Boost's fills up overtime. Timing will definitely help you on landing enhanced attacks more successfully on targets thus minimizing wasting those extra damage it gives. You can use this to last hit objectives or finish off targets. ▶ Last Hitting - Tips & Guide |
③ Take Advantage Of Your Passive Abilities ・Its Anticipation passive enables Eevee to negate getting affected by hindrances during the early stages of the game. You'll be able to avoid getting distrupted in clashes. Once you evolve, this will be upgraded to Magic Bounce where you won't just nullify hindrances, but also deal damage to the Pokemon attempting to hinder Espeon and slowing their movement speed in the process as well. This effect last for a short period you can use to keep chasing targets or escape pursuers. ▶ Critical Hit Guide |
Espeon Strategy Guide
Espeon Strengths & Weaknesses
Strengths |
---|
・ Very hard to catch as it can negate hindrances with its passive abilities. ・ Its moves has a high turnover rate and may also be reduced when moves like Future Sight deals damage each time they hit. ・ Espeon has a variety of methods for slowing down the opponent's movement speed and rendering it incapacitated. ・Psychic Solare can be used to create an opportunity for allies to attack by immobilizing and suspending them mid-air. |
Weaknesses |
・ Agile Pokemon like Speedsters or any Pokemon moving are harder to hit with Espeon's ranged moves like Psybeam and may require a bit of a skillshot technique in order for it to land successfully ・Similar to Slowbro's amensia, even though Espeon can trap multiple Pokemon, it is unable to act during the duration of its Unite Move ・Quite vulnerable on getting inflicted with status conditions from Pokemon like Alolan Ninetales ・ Espeon's HP may go rather low in intense encounters without Future Sight's healing effect, thus you may find yourself returning to the base a few times unless you bring a healer with you. |
Recommended Lanes
The number of ★ shows the level on a particular route area.
Lane | Route Details |
---|---|
Top | Recommendation level:★★★ Eevee should head to the Top Lane to actively push lanes and knockout Rotom. Once it reaches level 4, you may take use of its enhanced fighting abilities. In your early stages, concentrate on getting the last hits while playing safely from a distance. |
Middle | Recommendation level: ★★・ Eevee will most certainly achieve level 8 in the first game versus Drednaw if you control the central location. However, rather than focusing on jungling, Sylveon's early game performance is better employed in battle. You can give this section to more agile Pokemon who can better navigate it and move to the main pathways as necessary. |
Bottom | Recommendation level: ★★★ After level 4, Espeon has a very high fighting ability, allowing it to carry the team in most bottom-lane clashes. This is the best path since you can swiftly KO Audinos with moves like "Psyshock" or "Stored Power," allowing you to quickly unlock Espeon's entire moveset. |
Eevee (Lv 1~) Strategy
Choose Swift First
We recommend that you start with Swift as it deals more damage for faster KO's than Growl - An crucial aspect in the early stages of the game. You can still get Growl later as you go through the lane. It may also deliver damage to many Pokemon at once, so keep that in mind when aiming Wild Pokemon that are lined up.
It's Usually Best To Attack From A Distance
Even while you can deal with strong attacks early on in the game, you will realize that your endurance is lacking. Avoid close combat and maintain a safe distance from your opponents while you continue to deal harm. Once you get Growl, you may go on the offensive because this move both causes damage and slows down the other Pokemon's attack and movement speed.
Do Not Over Extend
Even if Eevee can fend for itself in the early stages, its best not to extend your time battling other opponents as you'll lose time farming previous exp levels. This way you'll be able to secure your evolution so other's won't be able to snowball you later.
Espeon (Lv 4~) Strategy
From Lv4 Onwards, Moves Get More Powerful
When you develop into Espeon, you can choose between two strong moves: Psyshock or Stored Power. The former inflicts damage and debuffs adversaries, while the latter incurs area damage that increases in intensity as the enemy gets further away. You'll be able to run down opponents more successfully once you've added these moves to your arsenal, but don't forget to cooperate with teammates!
Boosted Attack Shoots Rays
Normal Attack | Boosted Attack |
---|---|
Every 5 seconds, the normal attack transforms into a boosted attack and fires a ray ahead. this increases the damage done to the opponent hit by this move and slows down their movement for around 1 second which is advantageous when chasing down targets.
Timed Skillshots
Since a lot of Espeon's move are ranged, you need to practice timing and measuring when to utilize ranged moves to be able to land them successfully on your targets especially on more mobile opponents. Its best to pair up with a Pokemon that can hold or slow them down so you'll be able to hit them.
Espeon (Lv 6~) Strategy
Adapt Your Build To Your Attack Style
Upon leveling at level 6, you'll need to pick again Psybeam or Future Sight. Consider changing your second move based on the first move you choose so that your moveset complements one another.
Future Sight |
---|
Lv 6: Future Sight Has the user lock on to an opposing Pokemon, then deal damage a few seconds later to opposing Pokemon in an area of effect centered on the locked-on Pokemon. More damage is dealt the lower the locked-on Pokemon's remaining HP is. While the user is locked on to an opposing Pokemon, its other moves will target that Pokemon whenever possible. Each time one of these moves deals damage, Future Sight's cooldown is reduced. If the locked on Pokemon is on the opposing team and is knocked out before the area of effect damage is dealt, a single powered-up use of Psyshock or Stored power becomes available for a short time. When Psyshock is powered-up, it hurls strongerpsychic projectiles at a designated location that also cause an explosion, dealing damage o opposing Pokemon in the area of effect. When Stored Power is powered-up, it unleashes an increased number of psychic power blasts and restores the user's HP when the blasts hit. Cooldown 9 seconds |
Psybeam |
Lv 6: Psybeam Has the user fire a peculiar ray in the designated direction. If the ray hits an opposing Pokemon, it will then split beyond the first Pokemon hit and deal damage to other opposing Pokemon in range. These split rays deal more damage the higher the max HP of the first Pokemon hit by the ray. Furthermore, if the first Pokemon hit by the has its movement speed decreased or is unable to act, those same effects will be applied to the Pokemon hit by the split rays. Cooldown 9 seconds |
Psyshock + Future Sight Build
This Espeon build maximizes its special attack damage to get all-out offensive in your designated lane, particularly on the top route. Start off by using Future Sight to lock on your attacks to your target, preferably use this on key players on the lane to stave off some of their HP with the overtime damage. Follow this up with Psyshock to burst them down by inflicting additional damage while slowing them down in the process. If the locked on target is knocked out before the area of effect damage is done, a single powered-up use of Psyshock is available for a limited period. When Psyshock is powered-up, it fires harder psychic projectiles at a designated spot, which also explode, delivering damage to opponent Pokemon in the area of effect.
Psyshock + Psybeam Build
This Espeon Build in Unite focuses on maximizing its ranged damage capabilities and go offensive on its enemies. Pressure targets from a distance with Psyshock. This move also decreases the enemy movement speed for some time and may completely stun them in their place if they got hit by all of the starry projectiles. This creates an opportunity for you and your allies to attack immobilized enemies continuously for some time. If your target was able to survive the barrage of attacks, utilize Psybeam to snipe them down. This is a great finishing move as it deals great damage you can fire at any range, particularly useful on fleeing targets. The beam also splits up when there are nearby opponents as well and these splitted rays deals damage the higher the max HP of the first Pokemon hit by the ray.
Stored Power + Future Sight Build
This moveset maximizes Espeon's wide AoE and crowd control capabilities. Stored Power is great for countering multiple enemies in the lanes as it both inflicts them and slows down their movement. After the duration of the attack, Espeon's movement speed increases for a short period of time, which you may use to chase down fleeing targets or retreat from enemies and unfavorable situations especially when your on defense. Espeon's basic attack power also increases dramatically, allowing you to use it to finish off opponents. On the other hand, Espeon's Future Sight may inflict cumulative damage on any locked target over time. The cooldown of Future Sight is lowered each time one of these abilities deals damage, allowing you to use it again. You may save an extra power-up of this move when an opponent is knocked out, increasing the damage of your follow-up attack while also replenishing Espeon's HP. In close combat scenarios, this might turn the tables.
Stored Power + Psybeam Build
This Espeon moveset cover quite a range which is ideal for snipping and kiting enemies. You can start off with Psybeam to snipe targets from a distance. If it strikes an opponent, it will divide and cause damage to another hostile within the area of effect. The damage dealt by these split rays increases with the maximum HP of the first Pokemon impacted by the beam. Furthermore, if the initial Pokemon struck is slowed or rendered immobile, the same effects will be applied to other enemies hit by the split rays. When they try to get near, use Stored Power to counterattack them. This will launch psychic power blasts at random opponents within range, delivering damage and slowing their movement speed for a brief period. After using this move, the Espeon's movement speed improves for a brief period of time as well which you can use to chase down enemies or escape disadvantageous situations.
Unlocks Unite Move: Psychic Solare
Once you get your Unite Move, you'll be able to wreak havoc in the battlefield. With Psychic Solare, you can fling opponents into mid-air and suspend them with psychic power followed up with a powerful blast. This deals damage to opposing Pokemon in the area of effect and shoves them. Make sure to save it for the last 3 Minutes, especially during the Zapdos fight.
Espeon - Timing Specific Guide
What To Do At Every Stage Of The Game
This section will guide you on what specific Wild Pokemon to target in what order, as well as what to do at various stages of the game. This guide is based on the Psyshock/Future Sight build.
10:00 - 9:40
Target Level | 3 |
---|---|
Tasks | ① Learn Swift ② KO the first aipom ③ KO the second aipom ④ KO the 3rd and 4th aipom ⑤ To the middle of the route |
It is recommended to choose Swift first during the early stage of the battle, as it deals higher damage and hits opponents 4 times, making this a good move for getting the last hit on wild Pokemon!
9:40 - 7:00
Target Level | 6 |
---|---|
Task | ① KO the corphish under the middle ② KO the upper left and lower left aipom ③ KO the corphish on the upper left of the front goal of the ally ④ KO the three Combees in the middle and Vespiquen ⑤ KO the resurrected corphish in the middle ⑥ KO the resurrected upper left and lower left aipom ⑦ KO the corphish on the upper left of the front goal of the resurrected ally ⑧ Go to the lower route while KOing 4 corphish in the central area |
Both of Espeon's early moves have high burst damage so it's easy to get the last hit. Aggressively attack the opposing side and capture their Wild Pokemon with Psyshock. Aim to reach level 6 and learn Future Sight.
7:00 - Until First Drednaw
Target Level | 8 & above |
---|---|
Task | ・ Damage from a long distance with boosted attack or intention ・ Interfere with opponents with enhanced attacks and Psyshock ・ Create a chance for allies to attack by hitting multiple opponents with unite moves |
In group fights, Espeon is focused on continuing to inflict damage from a distance with boosted attacks and moves. Espeon's Unite Move is most effective when several opponents are gathered around it. Make sure to aim for a level 8, so you can learn Psychic Solare.
After First Drednaw Until Zapdos Spawn
Target Level | 12 |
---|---|
Tasks | ・Damage from a distance with boosted attacks and moves. ・Use boosted attacks and Psyshock to disrupt opponents. ・Use Unite Moves against multiple opponents to create an opportunity for allies to attack. |
Espeon has very low endurance and maneuverability, so it is not good to act alone. Always be aware of your positioning and stay close with your allies. The goal is to reach level 12 which Psyshock upgrades.
2:00 - 0:00 Zapdos Fight
Tasks | ・ Damage from a long distance with a boosted attack or intention ・ Interfere with opponents with enhanced attacks and Psyshock ・ Create a chance for allies to attack by hitting multiple opponents with Psychic Solare |
---|
The Zapdos battle at the end of the game will likely be a place where Unite Moves fly. You'll want to use your Unite Move to adroitly dodge the most lethal of your enemy's attacks. Stick with your Defenders, coordinate with team members and use your Buddy Barrier shields to win the fight.

Pokemon Espeon Is Weak Against
How To Play Against Espeon
・ It can only negate the first hindrance and after that its passive goes into cooldown. Follow up with another crowd control to hinder its movement. ・ You can harass or steal spawns from Eevee during the early stages to delay its evolution. ・ Try to steer it on combees & Vespiquen so it also gets attacked by them, dealing extra damage to make it easier knock down. ・ Even if it can dodge most of the hindrances thrown at it, it is quite vulnerable on status effects from Pokemon like Alolan Ninetales. |

Tips When Allied With Espeon
・ Use Pokemon like Slowbro that can hold down targets or slow their movement so Espeon can hit them easier with its ranged shots. ・Separate opponent from group battles for Espeon to lock down and fight against with. ・ Even though Espeon can recover some of its HP, you can still prevent it from getting knocked out in team fights by healing it or buffing it up in close battles. ・ Take the lead in the frontline or get in the middle of its attacker so Espeon won't absorb too much damage when you are using a Pokemon with a higher defense. |
