Zhu Yuan is Highest Priority
Zhu Yuan is the first Ether Attack character. In some high difficulty challenges like Shiyu Defense, there are some enemies that are weak against Ether but it was difficult to take advantage of this with Nicole alone.
Zhu Yuan will give you more options when building a team so getting her should be the highest priority.
Better to Wait for More Info
We already know that Zhu Yuan is a powerful character, but if you don't have many Polychromes to spare, we suggest that you wait for more details regarding the next character coming after Zhu Yuan.
We are expecting for a new character to be released on August 13 when Zhu Yuan's limited banner ends. Judging from the past, we can expect new information regarding the new character before it releases including a demo or trial for the character, so you may want to wait for that.
Should You Pull Ellen?Zhu Yuan Abilities
Currently the only Ether Attacker
Zhu Yuan uses unique ammunition called "Enhanced Shotshells" to deal massive damage and is currently the only Ether Attribute Attack character. She can quickly use her Enhanced Shotshells at any time so you can squeeze it in easily to deal lots of damage.
Has Long Range and Fast Movement
She has just enough range to damage enemies and a useful dash attack, making it easy to dodge attacks and move around while attacking. She can fight both close and mid range, making her versatile and easy to use.

Get Signature Weapon if you have Zhu Yuan
Zhu Yuan's Signature weapon, Riot Suppressor Mark VI, increases CRIT Rate and CRIT Damage in addition to increasing Skill damage after dealing Ether damage to the enemy. This is the only W-Engine that increases both CRIT Rate and CRIT Damage so that is a huge advantage.
Obviously it is a great match with Zhu Yuan, and it gives you a lot more firepower compared to using an A-Rank W-Engine so you'll want to obtain this weapon if you already have Zhu Yuan.
You Can Use Other W-Engines with Lower Firepower
You can use other W-Engines that work well with the character if you have one, although they may not be as powerful as the Riot Suppressor Mark VI. The Brimstone especially works well since Zhu Yuan uses Basic Attacks and Dash Attacks often in battle.
Get Signature Weapon before C1
Zhu Yuan is a strong Attacker even without Mindscape Cinema but by getting C1, you can get "Enhanced Shotshells" immediately after using a Chain Attack or Ultimate. This does make fighting battles easier but it's not something that you can activate all the time, especially the Ultimate, so we recommend increasing your firepower with the signature weapon than going for C1.
Get Riot Suppressor Mark VI Later if You Want C2
Zhu Yuan's stats improve greatly for both Attack and Defense at C2. Getting C2 will become one of the main goals if you have Zhu Yuan, so if you are going to use her as one of your main Attackers you may want to get C2 first, then go for the Signature weapon.
