The Dodge Skill is a common skill for all characters that can be activated by tapping the Dodge Skill icon. While Dodge Skill is activated, you can obtain the Invulnerable effect, which can be activated twice in a row. Note that there will be a short cooldown period after activating it twice in a row.

Movement Depends on the Character

The actual movement such as the distance and speed they move differs depending on the character. For example, Ben can block and counter enemy attacks, but his movement is extremely slow.

How to do Perfect Dodge and Tips

Dodge Just Before Being Hit

Perfect Dodge is a skill that not only allows you to obtain the Invulnerable effect for a short period of time, but also enables a powerful attack called Dodge Counter. By tapping the Dodge icon just before being hit by an enemy attack, you can activate Perfect Dodge instead of a normal Dodge.

Perfect Dodge if You See a Red Flash

Performing Perfect Assist in response to the red flashing prompt will fail, and the replaced character will appear in a Perfect Dodge state. Since you can transition to Dodge Counter you can move quickly, but there is a risk that the character leaving the battle will be hit so it's better to do a Perfect Dodge instead when you see the red flashing prompt.

Watch the Enemy's Movement

The key to a successful Perfect Dodge is to dodge at the moment the enemy tries to strike (when the gold flashing prompt occurs). You know you succeeded if the animation slows down for a second.

Dodge Attacks from Outside the Screen

Even if you can't see the enemy, a triangular arrow will appear on the screen, so you can see where the enemy is. The arrow turns red when they are about to attack, so if you Dodge at that timing, you can perform Perfect Dodge even if you can't see the enemy.

How to Use Dodge Counter

Perform Basic Attack after Perfect Dodge

Controllers Press □ or X button after a successful “Perfect Dodge”

Keyboard/MouseLeft click after "Perfect Dodge"

Dodge Counter is activated by using Basic Attack after a successful Perfect Dodge. It is best to consider Perfect Dodge and Dodge Counters as a set, as you can dodge enemy attacks and unleash counter attacks at the same time.

High Damage and Interrupt Effect

The advantage of Dodge Counter is that it can deal high damage and interrupt the target's action. This is an element that can greatly bring out the strengths of a character, so make sure to actively use it.

Perfect Dodge and Perfect Assists

Use Perfect Dodge Often

Zenless Zone Zero Perfect Dodge Image

Perfect Assists require Assist Points to activate, so if you use them all the time you will quickly run out of points. The basic strategy is to use Perfect Dodge to evade enemy attacks and then Dodge Counter to accumulate damage.

Activate Perfect Assists when Needed

Perfect Assist is recommended if you want to change characters, such as when a character has been hit and their HP is low, or you Stunned them and want to change them to an attacker. Perfect Assists not only has the same Invulnerable effect as Perfect Dodge, but can also connect to a powerful skill called Assist Follow-Up.

Perfect Assists Guide

Perfect Dodge and Defensive Assist

Damage Output Increases when Activated Together

Although it's pretty difficult to pull off, Perfect Dodge and Defensive Assist can be activated at the same time. By doing this, you can deal additional damage using the Dodge Counter after the Perfect Dodge.

Point BangbooTips!Normally, it often ends up being just a Defensive Assist or just switching characters after a Dodge Counter. When it's successful, it looks like both characters are attacking simultaneously.

How to Activate

1Activate Perfect Dodge early against enemy attacks
2Quickly attack and trigger a Dodge Counter
3Activates Defensive Assist almost at the same time as Dodge Counter

The idea is to activate Perfect Dodge (time slows down) the moment the enemy lights up → Dodge Counter → then trigger Defensive Assist (Perfect Dodge), and do all that really quickly. If the first Perfect Dodge is too late, the enemy's attack movement will end, and you will not be able to activate the final Defensive Assist.
