Withering Garden Stage Details

Gimmicks from 3 Previous Stages Combined

Withering Garden Stage

Withering Garden is a stage that has gimmicks from the three prior stages, Old Capital Metro, Construction Ruins, and Abandoned Skyscraper. At the start of the challenge, you will choose one positive and one negative permanent effect in addition to a Research Resonium.

Increase Difficulty after 2nd Time

Zenless Zone Zero Image

After completing a stage in the Withering Garden for the first time, you can choose up to 11 additional conditions to raise the difficulty level. You can earn additional rewards such as Polychromes and Hi-Fi Master Copies depending on the number of conditions you add, so obtain more materials for your characters by making it as hard as possible.

Choose from 3 Research Resonia Collections

Research ResoniaEffect
Overload DistributionOverload DistributionRecovers 5% HP each time Pressure Overload occurs, and increases damage dealt by the entire squad by 5% (up to 50%).
Resource ConversionResource Conversion[Recommended]
For every 100 Gear Coins consumed, the damage dealt by the entire squad increases by 0.5% (up to a maximum of 50%).
Trigger InstinctTrigger InstinctFor every 1% of the Agent's HP lost, the damage they deal increases by 1% (up to a maximum of 80%).

The research Resonia Collection was fixed in the three prior stages, but you can choose which one to activate in the Withering Garden. Resource Conversion is the most recommended, as there are no disadvantages in increasing damage.

Get Used to the Gimmicks in 3 Surrounding Stages

3 Surrounding Stages

The Withering Garden incorporates all the gimmicks from the surrounding 3 stages so if you're having trouble progressing, it's a good idea to get accustomed to each gimmick in those 3 prior stages. It is particularly important to see if you can maximize the effects of the Research Resonia Collection.

Withering Garden Strategy & Tips

Avoid Physical Attribute Team

Avoid Physical Attribute Team

On the second floor of Withering Garden, there is a high probability that a heavy Machine type enemy that is resistant to Physical Attributes will appear as a boss. If you are mainly enhancing Physical attackers, include them as the squad members when you start the stage so that they can replace the other squad members once the second floor is done.

Point BangbooTips!Other enemies have no resistance other than the Assault Artillery (Resistance: Fire) that appears on the first floor, so just choose your strongest Agents.

Choose Gear Coin Buffs

BuffGear Coins earned +20%
DebuffHP will no longer increase above 80%
Resonia Collection [Research] Resource Conversion
For every 100 gear coins consumed, the damage dealt by the entire squad increases by 0.5% (up to a maximum of 50%).

When choosing the permanent effect and Resonia Collection at the start of the stage, we recommend the Gear Coin related effects. If you select Pressure increase as a debuff, it will be difficult to take the optimal route to earn Gear Coins, so choose the Max HP debuff instead.

Understand the Map Layout for Each Floor

Zenless Zone Zero Image

The Withering Garden map combines 1 floor from the three prior stages. The first floor uses Abandoned Skyscraper's gimmicks, the second floor uses Old Capital Metro's conveyors, and the third floor uses the gimmicks from Construction Ruins.

Point BangbooTips!Since it's mostly a straight path on all floors, Overload Distribution, which requires moving on extra spaces to accumulate pressure, is not a good match.

Withering Garden has a lot of Ice and Ether Weaknesses as bosses on the 1st and 2nd floor, so under current conditions, it is recommended to use an Ice Attribute team. The final floor boss, Nineveh, has neither Weaknesses nor Resistances so it won't matter which Attribute you choose as long as you can get through the first 2 floors.
