Whirlpool Attack!

Because Azumarill's movement speed can be increased by Whirlpool, this move is ideal for pursuing enemies. Unlucky targets caught in its whirlpools suffer damage over time. This move also has a lifesteal effect, allowing you to heal Azumarill every time your target gets hit. This will greatly increase your survivability in team fights and increase your battle time.

Play Rough With Opponents

Azumarill can leap from a distance and deal insane damage to the receiving end of its jump. Its movement speed is also increased for a short time, enabling you to catch up to enemies. Likewise, you can also use this to flee when being pursued by multiple opponents and use its ability to quickly change position to dodge incoming attacks, especially from skill shots. You'll be able to use this more often with its fast cooldown rate as well so you can deal continuous damage while also sustaining momentum.

Held Items To Increase Damage

Buddy Barrier will give you additional HP as well as shields for you and your team whenever you use Belly Bash, which has a short cooldown rate so you can expect to use it more often. This will help Azumarill and nearby allies to absorb less damage and outlive your enemies. Since you'll be doing a lot of basic and boosted attacks on the side, its best to equip Azumaril with Attack Weight to increase its firepower by adding a minimum of 6 up to 18 on your attack stats each time you score a goal. This incentive will not only reward you for scoring but also makes you stronger as the game goes on. This also pairs well with Scope Lens that boosts Critical Hit Rate and Damage. The higher your attack stats gets, the more the damage you can inflict enemies. When this all stacks up along with your passive, you'll be able to sure hit lone targets in a matters seconds, making you incredibly deadly as a duelist.

Battle Item For Mobility

X-Speed will allow you to keep up with ranged Pokemon. It also has a shorter cooldown and longer effect. It also can be used in more than one situation, which gives Azumarill the ability to get versatile in important situations - from escaping pursuers, chasing enemies to scoring goals. In this game, CC is everything, and several characters have them in their moveset. X Speed can ignore their speed debuffs so you can stay on top of your game.

Hit Enemies With Your Aqua Tail!

This Azumarill moveset is effective in increasing the area of effect and speed of your next three basic attacks. As a melee Pokemon, you can use this to your advantage against your opposing counterparts as you'll be able to attack from further away even for a limited time. When these basic attacks are used from a distance, they do more damage and can ignore the Defense Stat or Shield Effects of the Pokemon they hit. Use this against the enemy team's Defender. This process also replenish Azumarill's HP, so you won't get knocked down that easily.

We Like To Play Rough

If you feel like chasing down targets, Play Rough is your go to move. Your movement speed increases and your next basic attack is changed into a pouncing move that delivers repeated blows to its unfortunate target. When this move lands, it deals damage that also leaves targets unable to move for a short time. They won't be able to counter your attacks in this state, so hit them with basic attacks while this move is on cooldown.

Held Items To Improve Damage & Defense

This Azumarill build is focused on increasing your next basic attacks, you can further amplify the damage it deals with Muscle Band. This item increases the damage dealt by basic attacks to opponents equivalent to 1% of the opposing Pokemon's remaining HP. Razor Claw on the other hand adds a minimum of 10 more damage to your next basic attack. Since Azumarill is a melee Pokemon, this item enables its basic attack to decrease the movement speed of opposing Pokemon for a short time. Buddy Barrier is a must have item for any Pokemon with its additional HP and Shield equal to 20% of your max HP that can be activated automatically when you use your Unite Move. This effect also applies to your nearby allies, so its a great help for your team during clashes as the shields will protect your side from getting damaged by the opposing team.

Dash With This Battle Item

You can quickly move Azumarill to a specific direction with Eject Button.Whether it's to dash into fights or escape your pursuers, this item has many uses you can use to your advantage so we recommend that you experiment with this item in the Battle Arena.

Hit Them With Aqua Tail!

Aqua Tail gives you a chance to keep your distance from dangerous melee targets by increasing the speed and area of effect of the next three basic attacks. It also does quite a good job at keeping Azumarill alive for a bit longer during team fights with its lifesteal effect that can replenish a portion of Azumarill's lost HP. Aside from this, it can bypass shields while also ignoring the target's defense stats, which is good for harassing enemies and finishing them off.

Splash Enemies With Water Pulse

Water Pulse inflicts damage and slows anyone that gets caught within its watery ricochet. Once upgraded, its blast can travel up to three targets, so you may find this useful in team battles. It also gives you a short rolling dash in a designated direction so you can get in and out of battles, not to mention dodge any attacks your target may throw back at you.

Held Items For Max Performance

Although Azumarill can restore its HP, its not enough to sustain it if it absorbs too much damage in battle in the long run. That's why Buddy Barrier is a great choice to increase its HP and grants it additional shield to itself as well as nearby allies equal to 20% of their max HP whenever it uses Belly Bash. Focus Band further increases Azumarill's defense stats and also recovers 8% of the HP it had lost each second for three seconds when its HP drops too low. Muscle Band, on the other hand, adds more Atk and increases basic Atk Speed. Furthermore, it provides basic attacks an additional 1% damage increase equivalent to the target's remaining HP. Stacked with Azumarill's Huge Power passive, you can deal burst damage on your basic attacks and moves on single targets.

Battle Item For Increased Damage

You can further make Azumarill a powerful duelist when you equip it with X Attack. For a short period, it can increase Azumarill's attack and basic attack speed. It will greatly amplify your attack damage and when stacked with Huge Power, you'll definitely be unstoppable. Activate it before engaging in 1v1 to get that high burst damage so you can quickly knock down your opponent and move on to your next target.

Whenever you activate Whirlpool, Azumarill creates 4 mini whirlpools that surrounds it and anyone that tries to come across deals damage and restores some of the lost HP. This move might enable you to outlive your enemies, especially on more than 1v1 encounters during teams battles.

Hit Them With Water Pulse

The blast of water then automatically bounces to another target, which when upgraded, can bounce off up to three enemies. Most effective during team battles where the opposing team gathers together on the lane. While the blast of water is traveling, the Azumarill can perform a short rolling dash in a designated direction, enabling you to reposition yourself in battle.

LaneRoute Details
TopTop Recommendation level:★★★
Marill's high performance in the early stages makes it easy to take advantage of the battle on the upper route and makes scoring effortless. This route is recommended when you want to raise the level safely or when you have Attack Weight.
MiddleMiddleRecommendation level: ★★・
Marill can also be in charge of the central area because of its speed to KO wild Pokemon and its element of surprise. However, it can also work on the upper and lower routes due to its high performance in the early stages of the game so it best to give it to an ally that suits this area
BottomBottomRecommendation level: ★★★
Marill has excellent early-game performance and can easily sustain the hard clashes on the lower path. When there are few teammates with great performance in the early stages, take aggressive control of the lower path.

Azumarill (Lv 1~) Strategy

Choose Tackle

At the start you'll have to choose between Tackle and Bubble. You can get Tackle make it easier to dash in and stun spawns. Having mobility is a big advantage in-game, especially during the early stage. So get Bubble next to use on attacking spawns as their movement speed with be debuffed so you'll be able to prevent them from getting away while using this move.

Step Into The Front Lines

The fact that Azumarill only needs to evolve once gives it an edge over its Pokemon rivals. Early on, you may be proactive in stealing spawns from your lane opponents by having an ally Defender or Supporter on your side to boosts your chances of having the advantage in the fight.

Prioritize Level Progression

You can attack surrounding spawns to obtain extra Exp to enhance your early moves while keeping an eye out for any enemies attempting to score. Azumarill's initial power spike occurs at level 5, so farm Combees and Aipoms to get there.

How To Level Up Fast - EXP Farming

Take Advantage Of Your Passive!

Make sure to watch out for isolated enemies to take on the lane. Azumarill attacks automatically become critical when it uses a basic attack, a move, or its Unite Move on a single opponent Pokemon. This makes it have the upper hand on 1v1 fights.

Azumarill (Lv 5 ~) Strategy

Choose Your First Move Wisely

Depending on your battle style in UNITE, you can choose between Whirlpool and Aqua Tail once you evolve. You may need to consider what your team needs at the current moment.

Whirlpool For AoE Damage & HP

Azumarill gets four mini whirlpools revolving around it. When a whirlpool hits an opponent Pokemon, it inflicts harm on it while also restoring the user's HP. When a whirlpool strikes a Pokemon on the other side, the user gains an enhanced quantity of HP.

Aqua Tail For Life Steal Damage Effect

Azumarill's next three basic strikes will be faster and have a larger area of impact. If these basic moves hit an opponent Pokemon from afar, they do more damage, replenish the user's HP, and ignore the opposing Pokemon's Defense stat and Shield Effects. This way you'll be able to outlive your enemies in battle.

Azumarill (Lv 7~) Strategy

Change Your Build to Match Your Play Style

You'll need to consider choosing Play Rough or Water Pulse - choose carefully as you will use this for the rest of the game. Ensure that your second move complements your other move to get the best build for Azumarill. Equip the right Held Items and Battle Item to improve your gameplay.

Enhance Passive Ability With Play Rough

Play Rough's single target nature allows Azumarill to activate its passive abilities. This way you'll deal more damage, allowing you to knock down enemies and wild Pokemon alike much easier.

Gets Immobilized After Using Move

After using Play Rough, Azumarill gets immobile for a short time. This makes it vulnerable to getting attacked by enemies as you won't be able to counter nor dodge them in this state. Make sure to keep this in mind so you can compensate this with Held Items that will increase your HP or Defense later on when choosing the best build for Azumarill.

Debuff Enemies With Water Pulse

Water Pulse throws a charged watery attack that can bounce off up to three enemies. Pokemon that are hit by this gets their movement speed slowed and deals damage in the process. While the blast of water is travelling, Azumarill can perform a small rolling dash. So you can change your position in battle quickly to dodge incoming attacks from your lane opponents or purse fleeing targets.

Whirpool + Water Pulse Build

Recommended Combos
Whirpool Water Pulse

This Azumarill build focuses on its range and wide AoE attacks. You can use Whirlpool first to deal some damage. This way even if they attack back, you won't lose that much HP at your first encounter, especially when you are faced with more than one opponent in the lane. Follow this up with Water Pulse to further add some damage to your target. When a Pokemon is struck by Azumarill's Water Pulse attack, their movement speed is hindered and the water blast deals damage. Slowed targets are easier to catch up with and hit with, making it easier to knock them down with your next basic attack.

Aqua Tail + Play Rough Build

Recommended Combos
Play RoughAqua Tail

This Azumarill moveset focuses on its basic attack damage capabilities. Start off with Play Rough to shave off some of your target's HP and leave them unable to act for a short time. This is particularly useful on more agile Pokemon that like to move around while attacking. Then follow this up with Aqua Tail - make sure to use it from a distance to deal more damage! Shield and Defense stats are also ignored, making them vulnerable and easier to take down. Furthermore, this also replenishes your HP so you'll be able to recover lost health. This helps increase your battle time and chance to outlive your target no matter how tanky they may be.

Aqua Tail + Water Pulse Build

Recommended Combos
Water PulseAqua Tail

This Azumarill build focuses on chasing down enemies. Use Water Pulse to slow down your target while also dealing damage to its AoE. Its blasts may reach up to three targets, so its quite handy when you are confronted by two or more enemies in the lane. It also grants you a quick rolling sprint in a certain direction, allowing you to enter and exit engagements while avoiding any counter attacks your target may hurl back at you. Follow this up with Aqua Tail to increase your speed so you'll be able to catch up with your target. Your next three basic attacks' range are extended as well, so you can use this to deal a deadly last hit low HP targets as the flee.

Whirlpool + Play Rough Build

Recommended Combos
Whirpool Play Rough

This Azumarill moveset focuses on isolating and bursting down lone Pokemon in the lane. Cut some of your target's HP with Whirpool. It will deal increasing damage the longer your target stays within its range so use X Speed so you can keep up with your target while doing this move. Activate Play Rough next to slow them down. The next basic attack is changed to a leaping move that delivers repeated blows. Anyone on the receiving end will be unable to act after the stomping. Take advantage of your immobile target to do any last hitting moves to knock it off.

Unite Move: Belly Bash

This Unite Move has Azumarill pound its belly three times to get a shield. In return for greater Attack, the user loses some HP with each pound. While hitting its belly, the user can move around. Following that, the user selects an opponent Pokemon and charges towards it, causing damage to and tossing every opposing Pokemon it strikes. Once Azumarill performs its Unite move, expect it to annihilate anything in its path. So make sure to save it on important situations like when struggling to get buffs on wild Pokemon boss like Drednaw or Rotom, and especially for the Final Stages where your both teams compete for Zapdos.

Azumarill - Timing Specific Guide

What To Do At Every Stage Of The Game

Tasks① Learn Tackle as your first move
② KO the first Aipom
③ KO the next Aipom
④ KO the 3rd and 4th line of Aipoms
⑤ Head towards the middle

The recommended first move to learn is Tackle for its easy to use dash attack. Aim for the middle of the route quickly and try to hit the third and fourth Aipom at the same time.

9:40~7:00

Tasks① KO The Corphish in the lower middle part of the top lane
② KO the Aipom located at the lower side of the lane

⑤ KO the newly spawned Corphish in the lower middle part of the top lane
⑥ Clear the newly spawned Aipoms at the upper and lower left side
⑦ Deal with the respawned Corphish located at the upper left side of your goal zone
⑧ KO the other 4 Corphish in the central area before going to the bottom lane

Azumarill has high stats in the early stages of the game, so you can be aggressive in targeting wild Pokemon on the other side. It is easy to get the last hit by using Tackle, which has a short time of dealing damage. When evolved to Azumarill at level 5, try to learn Whirlpool first.
