You can ask your friends for their Player ID and use it to find them in the Friend Menu. The Player ID is a 7-character code that can be viewed by going to the Trainer Info Screen. Added friends must confirm your friend request first before you can see them on the Friends screen!

Cannot Search Via Trainer's Name

Unfortunately, players cannot be searched with only their Trainer name & therefore cannot be added. The Player ID is essential to be able to search and add other players.

Add Nintendo Account Friends

If you already have friends tied to your Nintendo Account, you can easily add them using the "Add Friend" function under "Friend Search". You can add your Friends here so you can easily invite for games.
