Umbral Monument: Searing Scars Guide for Arknights: Endfield. It covers the best teams, how to defeat each stage, key strategy, tips, recommended characters, and rewards.

Umbral Monument Event Guide

Stage 1: Sea of Loathing

Tips for Clearing Sea of Loathing

  • Defeat Breaking Gust First
  • Destroy the Chains to Free Your Allies
  • Beware of the Smoke

Defeat Breaking Gust First

Endfield Breaking Gust in Sea of Loathing Umbral Monument

'Breaking Gust' appears immediately at the start of the stage and uses a powerful special attack that traps your allies in chains. Make this enemy your top priority and ignore everything else until it is defeated.

Destroy the Chains to Free Your Allies

After Breaking Gust disappears, it will trap one of your allies in chains, leaving them completely unable to act. The chains are fixed to 3 specific locations on the outer edge of the field, so destroy all of them quickly with your attacks to rescue your teammate.

Tip!If you fail to destroy the chains in time, the trapped ally will die!

Beware of the Smoke

Endfield Smoke emitted by Cloud Stalker

The Cloud Stalker releases smoke that greatly reduces movement speed. If an ally gets trapped while slowed, you will have much less time to save them. Stay alert to Breaking Gust’s movements at all times so you can react instantly and destroy the chains.

Stage 2: Melting Point of Flesh

Tips for Clearing Melting Point of Flesh

  • Dodge by Moving (No Perfect Dodge)
  • Beware of Originium Slug Explosion
  • Stop Flamethrower by Inflicting Statuses

Dodge by Moving (No Perfect Dodge)

This stage has a special rule that disables Perfect Dodge. Timing the dodge button will have no effect, so focus on manually moving your character outside the attack's effect radius.

Beware of Originium Slug Explosion

Endfield Firemist Originium Slug Explosion Radius

Firemist Originium Slugs will periodically spawn and detonate. The explosion deals heavy damage and inflicts Combustion, so immediately create distance the moment they appear.

Stop Flamethrower by Inflicting Statuses

The enemy's flamethrower is a wide-area attack that is very difficult to dodge. Aggressively apply Physical Status or Solidification to interrupt it before it can deal significant damage.

Stage 3: Howling Flame

Tips for Clearing Howling Flame

  • Consume the Enemy's Heat Infliction
  • Consume Heat When in Enraged State
  • Be Careful Not to Use Too Much SP

Consume the Enemy's Heat Infliction

Endfield Consume Heat Infliction

When the enemy enters the Enraged State, Heat Infliction will build up over time. If the Heat Infliction reaches 4 stacks, the enemy will unleash a powerful attack, so consume it by triggering an Arts Reaction with another Arts Infliction before it reaches 4 stacks.

Tip!If you trigger an Electric/Cryo/Nature explosion, you can shorten the duration of the Enraged State!

Consume Heat When in Enraged State

The Enraged State also has a damage reduction effect based on the Heat Infliction stacks. Focus on consuming the Heat Infliction during the Enraged State, and then deal a burst of damage after it ends.

Be Careful Not to Use Too Much SP

Natural SP recovery stops during the Enraged State. You will need to use Battle Skills to remove Heat Infliction, so it's recommended to save up some SP before the enemy enters the Enraged State instead of using too much.
