Interacting with the Protocol Datalogger gives you a Basic AIC Point as a reward. You cannot activate the Protocol Datalogger without completing the Main Story: Chapter I - Process II so progressing through the main story should be your priority.

AIC Points Are Used To Unlock Facilities

Basic AIC Points are used to unlock various facilities in the Automated Industry Complex (AIC). Since some facilities will be needed in the story early on, it is recommended that you prioritize unlocking the facility marked by "Rec." in the game.

Prioritize When AIC Index Is Low

Collecting all AIC Index unlocks all research. Some are difficult to locate, so prioritize facility unlocks to avoid depleting your AIC Index before reaching key research.

Wuling Requires Wuling AIC Index

To progress the Wuling AIC Plan, you must collect Wuling AIC Index by interacting with Protocol Dataloggers in Wuling. The region’s plan is unlocked by advancing main missions and installing a PAC in Wuling City.

Tips!	After unlocking the Core AIC Area in Wuling, actively gather Wuling AIC Index and proceed to unlock facilities.

AIC Plan & Facilities Are Vital for Wuling

In Wuling, the Wuling AIC Plan is required for exploration, including the Fluid Pump to drain ponds and Liquid Xiranite to clear Blight.

Priority Research for Wuling AIC Plan

In the Wuling AIC Plan, the top-priority items to unlock are the Fluid Pump, Xiranite, and power. Xiranite is essential for manufacturing, while water and power are needed to produce it. Once these are unlocked, focus on the Reactor Crucible, Pipe Splitter, and combat facilities.

Tips!	The HE Grenade Tower and Marsh Gas are strong combat facilities for base defense, but it is recommended to prioritize the resources essential for Wuling’s AIC Plan first.

AIC Index Eases Bill Farming & Exploration

The main benefit of unlocking the AIC Index is that, as you expand facilities and available AIC Plan, the number of items obtainable through trading increases. It also simplifies setting up Zipline Pylons to gather materials for character progression, saving time.
