Character Enhancement in Endfield involves leveling up, promotion (level cap increase), skill leveling, and Potential (Tuning). Stats can also be increased by changing Gear.
Leveling Up

Increasing a character's level will increase their overall stats. Since Promotion and Skill unlocks are tied to level, this should be the highest priority.
Gather Enhancement Materials Using Sanity (Stamina)

Enhancement Materials can be acquired through Protocol Space - EXP located in areas such as Valley Pass. This will require the use of Sanity (stamina). If Protocol Space - EXP is not yet accessible, progress through the story to unlock the map.
Promotion (Level Cap Increase)

Promotion increases a character's level cap. It also unlocks skill panels for Combat Skills, Talents, and Base Skills, allowing your character to become stronger and perform better. Therefore, this should be your second priority.
Specific Materials Required for Promotion

In order to promote a character, you will need specific materials for each character. These can be collected from Protocol Space or in the overworld. There is a limit to how much you can gather at once, so be sure to collect them frequently.
Combat Skill Enhancement

Enhancing Combat Skills increases the damage and effectiveness of a character's combat-related skills. This improves their overall efficiency, allowing you to take on more challenging content.
Requires 3 Types of Materials to Enhance
| Material | How to Get |
|---|---|
| Protoprism | Protocol Space - Skill Enhancement Acquisition Center - AIC Quota Exchange |
| Kalkodendra | Harvest in Rare Growths Harvested from the Hub Base |
| T-Creds | Protocol Space - Currency Acquisition Center - AIC Quota Exchange |
To enhance Combat Skills, you will need Protoprism, Kalkodendra, and T-Creds. Be careful not to overuse Protoprism and T-Creds since they are also used for Talent and Base Skill enhancements.
Talent/Base Skill Enhancement

Talents and Base Skills enhance passive skills, which affect each character's unique traits for combat and ease of use. The priority of these skills differs for each character, so focus on leveling them up first before enhancing their talents.
Changing Gear

Changing Gear allows you to adjust stats depending on your character's role in a team. This allows you to compensate for any weaknesses or further enhance their strengths. It's recommended to equip high-rarity gear as soon as you get it.
Available Gear Rarity Changes With Promotion Phase

Make sure to level up your characters first since they cannot equip high-rarity Gear (Armor) at low levels.
Potential (Tuning)

Potential allows you to enhance your characters whenever you get duplicate copies of them. This is done by using that specific Operator's Token. A character can have up to 5 Potential enhancements, so you need to get a total of 6 copies of a character to max out their Potential.
