Thorny Yazhen can be obtained by gathering resource nodes in the Wuling area or at a low drop rate when harvesting Yazhen cultivated at the Agricultural Test Site in Wuling.

Collect Thorny Yazhen in Wuling City
Thorny Yazhen Locations in the North
Plenty of Thorny Yazhen can be found north of Wuling City, around the Core AIC Area, and east of the Monitoring Center.
Thorny Yazhen Locations in the South
South of Wuling City, Thorny Yazhen can be found along the Lingshui Way trail toward Guhou March, with additional nodes located in Tianjing Courtyard.
Collect Thorny Yazhen in Jingyu Valley
A cluster of Thorny Yazhen nodes is located south of Jingyu Valley in Everwater Brook.

How to Produce in the Agricultural Test Site
Thorny Yazhen can be obtained by chance when harvesting cultivated Yazhen at Wuling City's Farm, located northeast of the Core AIC Area. The Agricultural Test Site unlocks immediately after gaining access to Wuling City.

How to Plant Thorny Yazhen
Prepare Yazhen Seeds
After gathering Yazhen in Wuling, you can convert them into Seeds to plant at the Agricultural Test Site, where there is a chance to cultivate Thorny Yazhen.
Use Seed-Picking Unit to Make Seeds
Deploy the Seed-Picking Unit in any Core AIC Area and supply it with Yazhen to generate Seeds. Do not overproduce, as the farm has a maximum capacity of 20 plots.
Purchase Yazhen Seeds
You can also go to the Wuling Agricultural Test Site and speak with Wellmorin to purchase Yazhen Seeds for 1,000 Wuling Stock Bills each. The shop inventory resets daily.
Create Carbon with Refining Unit
In addition to Yazhen Seeds, Carbon is required to craft a plot. Carbon can be produced by processing Buckflower, Citrome, or Sandleaf using a Refining Unit.

Buckflower, Citrome, Sandleaf, and even Yazhen can be mass-produced using a Planting Unit. If you are running low on these materials, refer to the blueprint above to set up an Infinite Plant Production Line.
Craft Yazhen Plot in Backpack
With Yazhen Seeds and Carbon in your Backpack, navigate to Crafting → Planting, select Yazhen Plot, then choose Craft.
Place the Yazhen Plot in the Farm
Head to the Agricultural Test Site Farm and place the Yazhen Plot. Keep in mind that the farm has a maximum capacity of 20 plots.
Usage of Fertilizer is Optional
You can apply Fertilizer to your plot after germination and watering to increase yield or shorten its growth phase. To do so, ensure you have a Fertilizer item in your Backpack, such as Bumper-Rich Fertilizer or Burdo-Muck.
How to Farm Thorny Yazhen Efficiently
Use 5x4 Plot Layout and Sprinklers
The most efficient farm setup is to arrange the Yazhen Plots in a 5×4 layout, with each sprinkler positioned to water two plots (as shown in the image above). Once the sprinklers are installed, manual watering is no longer necessary.
