How To Get Gigantamax Melmetal
Pokemon GO + Pokemon Home Link Up Event
For the first time ever, it will be possible to obtain a Gigantamax version of the mythical Pokemon Melmetal! This will only be doable by obtaining a Meltan in Pokemon Go and transferring it via Pokemon Home! After doing this, you'll be able to get Melmetal in Sword and Shield.

It's important to note that this Melmetal is not currently obtainable! Link capabilities for Pokemon Go and Home are planned to go live later this year.
How To Get Gigantamax Melmetal
| Step | Description |
|---|---|
| 1 | Send a Pokemon from Pokemon Go to Pokemon Home. |
| 2 | Open a mystery box in Pokemon Go, allowing you to catch a Meltan. |
| 3 | After doing this, you'll receive a Mystery Gift in Pokemon Home. Open this to get a Gigantamax Melmetal you can transfer to Sword/Shield! |
Note that from the information we've gotten so far, it seems you will need to download and play Pokemon Go to obtain Melmetal. You will likely have some time before this goes live, so we recommend downloading Pokemon Go ahead of time!

Melmetal, like all other Gigantamax Pokemon, will have a unique special move: G-Max Meltdown. This move will not only deal a large amount of Steel damage, but it will also have the asme function as Torment, making opponents unable to use the same move repeatedly!
